My items disappeared from Search

(I usually post here from my different shop, so I am not really new here)

Hello all.

Could someone please help me.

My shop has always been on the first two pages in search, but over the past week or so I noticed drop in views/visits, and today when I looked for my items - I couldn't fine any in search. I can find some (not all) if I type in very specific words.  However, if I type in my usual "pointe shoes", "vintage pointe shoes", none of my items can be found. And I can easily see all my "competitors" (I don't really think of them this way, rather other artists who make same ballet shoes art) item, and they are selling! And I can't be even seen now. I logged out, used different browsers, used a different computer (not mine) - nope, nothing.

Can it be the infamous "frequency cap"?

Can some good soul please try and see if it's the same for them? My shop name is My Little Ballet Attic (I know it can be seen in my profile, but just in case).

Oh, and one other thing: I started a sale a few days ago, and everything happened after that.

And a Q: what can I do in this situation? Holiday season, and...well...:(((((

Sometime this happens to me after a Browser update. Try clearing your cookies and even your browser history.

Searching our own listings isn't a reliable way to gauge visibility.  

When I search "vintage pointe shoes," 4 of your listings show on the first page, one in the top row.

@MyLittleBalletAttic: You need to give up on the concept of Etsy search providing the results that you expect. Due to "personalized searches" there are many many factors that affect listing placement and the relative weight of each factor probably changes constantly. Even exact word matches to your title no longer ensure that you will appear in search. Etsy is proud of the fact that they provide search results which they think you will actually purchase regardless of what you actually searched for.

You can NOT rely on anyone's search results, particularly your own,  to define how your listing is ranked.

Plus when the algorithm keeps seeing that you are not purchasing the items it shows you it will eventually stop showing them to you

There is no rhyme or reason to what we, as sellers, are seeing in our search strings. When I entered a search of pointe shoes Etsy pulled sweatshirts, bracelets and ornaments in addition to shoes. I am inclined to believe Etsy was showing me those things because I have previously purchased them from other sellers. So they say, hey she may want more of that too. I did not see any of your stuff, but I did not look beyond the first four pages. 

So I entered vintage pointe shoes. Still saw nothing of yours. Then I entered white decorative pointe shoes and five of yours appeared on the first page.

Yes you are right - no rhyme or reason, I always saw my items when I put simple phrases like "pointe shoes" or "ballet shoes"...until a few days ago. And people above found my items immediately. So...everyone sees different things (and sees things differently:)). Thank you!
