More security issues??

Jump to solution

Hi there. A few months ago we had our home wifi hacked. Despite changing devices, passwords, closing hacked gmail accounts etc I am still nervous. To help ease my concern, can anyone please give possible explanations to what has happened this week? Last weekend I set up a 15% off spring sale on my vintage Etsy shop. Today, I log into my account and there is no sale showing, no percentage off items, no sale listed under the marketing tab. Since reopening my shop after the hacking, I know that I can go into my account security settings and see who is signed into my shop account. For weeks I've been checking this and every time I see the same IP address and the same geographical area, so I've felt safe and secure. However today, it's showing a different IP address and a different geographical area. I tried logging out and back in again, but the details remain the same. What with the strange thing happening with the sale I set up and this log in difference, I'm concerned. Is there anyone out there techie enough to give an explanation please? Or perhaps this has happened to other sellers? Thanks.

Check with your ISP?  Your ISP can change locations depending on what is happening in the area you are in.  So any change may be legit for your ISP.

One thing you are not mentioning is security?  What sort of anti-virus home security are you using.  If you have anything streaming on your TV realize that the TV is the most vulnerable since most security does not cover TVs.

What log in difference?  If that is the ISP information as I said above your ISP may have changed for any reason.  That is not cause for alarm unless you are seeing other things but usually that means the ability to log in is gone.

I see your sale.

Sorry should have posted this in tech issues. I don't seem to be able to change it now. Does anyone know how? The system isn't allowing me to edit my post.

I'm very sorry that you were Hacked. Are you saying that in your Shop Manager, underneath your Logins, there is now a Login which is not you, and you are unable to Log them out?
Also (you may have already done this), because you were hacked; run virus scans on all of your devices, contact your bank and stop your cards. As well as report this to the authorities; you are the victim of a cyber crime.
