Miscounted My Sales

Jump to solution

The only thing holding me back from Star Seller for May was the $300 sales minimum. I was at $295 on Sunday, April, 30, when I got a $10 sale. Now today, May 1, it still says my sales were $295 and I didn't make Star Seller. I hand-counted my sales (not including shipping obviously) and I got $315, but support says it was counted correctly. What happened?

Hello @amandaspokedex,

We've double-checked the last order you've received last April, and it appears that you've received it on April 30, 2023 21:09 EDT. Please know that when calculating a seller's Star Seller status at the end of the month, we use UTC, not the seller's local time zone. This may be confusing because the messages and shipping CSVs are converted to a seller's own time zone, but the cut-off for new reviews and shipping details to be considered in a seller's status is 11:59pm UTC on the last day of the month.

Additionally, since you received it after the cut-off period, the ship-by date of this order falls on May 2, 2023. This means that it will be counted towards the new review period(01 March–31 May, 2023). Please remember that for Star Seller, the orders counted are based on the ship-by dates and not the order date.

Thank you very much!

The last day or 2 of the month seems to not be added in.

Most of us don’t realize the last 1-2 days of a month don’t count but they don’t. We usually learn this lesson the hard way. Once learned you don’t forget.

Sales count towards whatever month the ship-by date is in. Because the order came in on Sunday the 30th, it's not possible that was the same day it was expected to ship by, thus it won't count towards your April number.

@amandaspokedex  I find it depends on the time of the sale. Etsy counts the days of the month differently depending on which financial area you're looking at. Many times the 31st is carried over to the following month and sometimes sales after Etsy's day's end (even if it's still the 30th in your area), the sale will go on the next month. Nothing is consistent so it's hard to calculate. Best wishes.

Etsy has said from the beginning that Star Seller takes at least (I added the at least because I've seen it take a little longer) 24 to 48 hours to update.  You can't count on the last couple of days of the month to save you.
