I have noticed that my % for the messaging requirement for star seller drops even if I haven’t received any new messages. Super frustrating since this causes me to not be able to attain the needed percentage and I miss being a star each time.
@UltimateStyleSupply: All Star Seller metrics are calculated for a three month period and awarded on the 1st of the month. The August star will be calculated on May, June, and July data. As suggested, check the applicable CSV file available on your Star Seller page to see which new thread(s) Etsy thinks you did not answer within 24 hours.
If an unanswered new thread is not a Help Request, at least for the time being, it appears that marking an unanswered message as SPAM (even after the 24 hour deadline has passed) will cause your reply percentage to change in a day or two if the original message was within the current star seller period (but not retroactively). Note that subsequent messages from that account may go directly to the SPAM folder.
Yes, it sucks if you get no messages.
Advice: Make some Etsy friends and chat with them once in a while.
Yes, since it’s based on 3 months, for July that would have been April May and June. If you had say, great message rates in March, they would have dropped off, but say some lower replies, in say June, That would make your score lower without you doing anything. You can go to your messages under SS and see which ones you are being dinged for.

Don't think she missed any. Looks like she didn't get any.
