Etsy will stop you from sending messages to other users if they think you are sending SPAM (unsolicited communications).
You can't fix this. You just have to wait for Etsy to decide when to turn your messages back on.
If you believe your messages have been restricted in error you can try contacting Etsy support directly via the links in your shop manager, however they can take several weeks to get back to you.
@DesignEmperium Who are you messaging with? You have no sales in your shop yet, and you have a typical POD shop. Have shoppers been messaging you with questions, and you are unable to answer? Usually you get muted for sending spammy unsolicited messages - a bad way to try to get business, and a good way to to hurt your shop. If you've been sending multiple promotional messages to people who fave your shop or items, or random etsy users - they may have been marking them as spam - so stop doing that.
I think I've heard it can be about 2 weeks for the first offense. Otherwise, best to contact Etsy Support and ask.
and yes shoppers been sending me message and I got one today from Etsy I can’t share it doesn’t give me that option I Evan got it as a email wouldn’t allow me to respond back to it keeps saying seek Etsy support
what error message do you get? If it's "bummer, your messages are disabled" then it's possible they think you were spamming.
If it's simply an unable to send, it could be you are trying to reply to a scammer and their account was removed.
If your potential buyer said they require your email address, that's a scam.
What’s POD Shop?
Print on demand. This is the company who you've chosen to print your original designs on products.
Unfortunately, that is THE most saturated market, since many, many, MANY sellers listened to you-tube gurus who promised easy money doing this. I think they forgot to mention that to be etsy legal, designs must be the sellers own designs.
Too many square images (unappealing to many buyers) and words on shirts and not enough buyers to go around.
POD = Print On Demand
There a good chance all those messages you have been receiving are from scammers - even the one which looks like it's from Etsy.
If you try to respond and it says 'invalid user' then the account has been closed by Etsy because they are scammers.
Genuine Messages from Etsy will only appear in the 'from Etsy' folder of your message inbox. (Check using a browser, not the app).
