Messages not being sent to some clients

Is anyone having an issue with messages not being sent to buyers?  I am attempting to message some of my buyers about their orders and when I hit send, the message disappears and it shows no message sent.  It doesn't happen on every single buyer but is at least 50% so this is an issue when we sell custom items that we need to discuss with client.  If anyone else is having this issue please let me know how to get fixed??!!  THANK YOU

Same issue here and why I'm here.  I've seen it happen over the last several weeks where as you said, about half my replies to customers on the order page "appear" to not be sending.  Some appear instantly with certain customers and others not at all.  I've sometimes tried to copy and paste my reply numerous times and will refresh my screen and even reboot my computer to see if that refreshes the screen not to see anything now but then later on find out the customer was bugged by getting the same message several times.  Hopefully Etsy fixes this issue as soon as possible and if an Etsy moderator sees this message, feel free to contact me directly if you would like to work together to help replicate the issue if you need that help.  I'm a retired programmer that helped build Amazon.  Hopefully there's some followup to the following link which I tried to respond to but couldn't do that neither.  https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/UPDATE-Messages-appear-to-not-send-when-responding-fr...  

 

The inability to easily reach an actual Etsy live support unless they decide to reach out to you really sucks!

Etsy is "bundling" Messages, to make it easier on the Seller. There may tweaks going on; not sure, sorry.

UPDATE:  TO HALF MESSAGES ARE NOT BEING SENT!
I just noticed something that may be helpful to Etsy Support and other Etsy Members.  So like many of you who are noticing only about half our replies are going through when trying to communicate with a buyer who just purchased something while on the order page (some messages never will appear on the order page even hours or days later) but what I just noticed is if I switch from my order page to the "Sent" folder, I will in fact see my message to the buyer there!  

That's pretty interesting.  It's as if the message does go through as shown in the "Sent Folder" however is not being transferred to the "order page" in the same way.  So the question then becomes for most sellers, is the message being seen on the buyer's end, and are we being dinged for not replying when we do in fact reply with the new star seller system?  I'll be able to check these two questions out myself over the next couple of days when I get the time and will report back here with what I find just to help answer this problem all others are also experiencing.  Wish I could upload images to help further but that find is important here for us to know what's going on and will provide answers shortly.

(Hope this is relevant to what you are saying.  *Please correct me if isn't):

I've always sent my Customers a Thank You for your Order Message (details re: the Order; which items will be boxed together; how much of a Partial Ship. Refund they will receive.  Also that I will monitor their tracking; should they need further assistance, don't hesitate to contact me.  Many have replied, "Thank You", "Thanks" and/or more. (This is before and after the SS Metrics came out).  

Should there be trouble w/an Order (stuck in a sorting facility, taking the scenic route, etc.), I will do whatever possible to get that pkg. moving. (Should this happen, I'll let my Cust. know I'm aware & what measures I'm taking to try to rectify the situation). I also keep Private Notes.

My Messages to Customers have always shown in the "Sent Folder."  They can also appear in the "Inbox" if the Customer  replies or Messages me via a different "string" of Messages.

I know some Sellers don't do this & prefer not receiving a Thank You w/details about Order.  Other Sellers do the same as me.  *(There is no right or wrong or better way.  Every Seller will operate differently.)
I don't consider a Thank You for your Order Message "Spam"; others do (everyone is entitled to their opinion).  In my Shop Policies there is a blurb stating I will contact you after your Order w/further details about the Order.  So if someone doesn't want that contact, they may not purchase from me.
(I've found most Buyers very much appreciate the Communication, including  tracking of the Order.  But as I said, everyone is different).

It is probably only happening with your repeat buyers.  If it's a repeat buyer, they are getting the message, but the message is popping over to the "messages" page into a thread from your previous order/s with those buyers.  You have no way of tracking the "current" correspondence with these buyers without switching to and then hunting down the messages on the "messages" page.
