I received a message from a customer in two different threads and I answered only one as I didn't want to sound stupid! I thought Etsy was supposed to group messages from one customer, now this issue dropped my response score to 94%
just like everyone knows there is absolutely no way to contact Etsy about these kinda issues. any ideas?
https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403058372503-How-to-Become-a-Star-Seller?segment=selling - Etsy support won't help you. Mark one as spam.
There seems to be confusion because of wording: the first message of every thread needs to be replied to. Yes, Etsy is supposed to combine subsequent messages from the same account (your customer might have more than one account) into one thread and as best as we can tell they have been. But keep in mind if the person sends you a Help Request it spawns a new thread and the initial message must be replied to - even if you have other messages with that account. Etsy has been putting a warning in blue on (what they consider) the initial message to make it clearer.
Spam the message and it should go back up in a day or two.
Thank you all, the Spam marking worked, and message response went back up to 100%
be careful spamming them, you won't get any more messages from them
so you may be stopping a repeat customer from contacting you
