Messages are messed up!

Besides people mentioning that new messages have gone into their spam folders without being seen by them, I ran into this a few times lately.

I've sent a message to someone, and then sent another one later, with no reply from them in between. So both messages are from me to someone, and yet when I send the second one, I get the "Nice work! A quick response always makes a great first impression." from etsy. 

??? That makes no sense.

@FeltWithAHeart  - I guess the first step would be to check all possible messaging boxes - though I definitely would do this on a browser not the app. 

With all the issues due to whatever changes Etsy made, I think it's safer to assume that something is "way bad" with Etsy's messaging system & that trying to figure it out will only lead to more gray hair or even baldness. 
Hopefully, eventually, Etsy will get the issues fixed. In the meantime it would be nice if they at least acknowledged that there are problems & that they're working on them.
