Message thread not showing on Order Page for Repeat buyers

I am finding that when I message a repeat buyer from the order page, the message goes through, however the thread doesn't appear on the current order, rather it adds on to the previous order the customer has made.

 

You then have to go back to the previous orders to find the messages. There is definitely a bug here.

This issue could not have been resolved. My order page messages are still screwy!

From reading other's posts, it sounds like it's wonky.  I thought maybe it would be tweaked; perhaps not.  I don't know what to think, sorry.

Mine are working fine.  With all computer systems, the variety that Etsy needs to deal with may mean they will have to continually refine for some time to catch all the variety sellers present.  It helps to notify Etsy that it is not working for your shop so they can investigate why so corrections can be made.

Message being sent is resolved - message being seen in the right place is not resolved.

I had this same issue this week; I ended up sending the customer several of the same messages because each time I sent them nothing would happen. Only after the customer sent me a message thinking that they were being spammed did I realize what was happening. I think Etsy is trying to make it to be all messages to customers even repeat ones show up in same messenger; this would only work, if the messenger attaches itself to the new order, so we could see it under the new order.


I do not really see the need for this; myself, thats just just from my perspective.

Here's what happened....

People said don't gripe about the SSP in the forums because Etsy doesn't read them. But, that's incorrect. They lurk. 

Etsy saw the million threads about "I lost my badge because I didn't respond to the multiple threads a buyer opened and I only replied to one."

Etsy said "we've heard you and we will make improvements"....something or another like that. 

In the midst of Etsy just trying to give the complainers something they wanted, things went coo-coo with the tech aspects when trying to please those who were upset. 

Now, the entire system is truly a train wreck for some sellers. I had no issues with it before. There was one simple requirement...."respond to ALL messages within 24 hours."
