I got a new message a few hours ago, but it was a message that I had sent to a buyer thanking them for the order and estimated shipping time. And the message I originally sent was on the 14th, not today. I am going to get dinged on star seller for not replying to this message, I feel if I reply to the message it won't make sense to the buyer. Has this happened to anyone else? I've been having some really strange things happen lately and doesn't seem that Etsy is there to help at all.
I'm getting them too. Just the thank you message I send to buyers after a sale that is coming back to me as a new message. In the meantime, till etsy fixes this, I have just been replying to my own message with a smiley face (just in case, so my "message response rate" doesn't take a dive).
My new messages are all going to Spam! I only knew I had a message because I had an email
Just started getting them this AM. SMH
I always send a thank-you to my customers for every order. I know it's duplication in a way - but it's also a personal communication and I've gotten a lot of positive feedback about it.
As a buyer, I don't care if Etsy knows that I purchased something but it is comforting to receive an acknowledgement that the seller knows of my purchase from them.
And with all of the reports from sellers of not receiving notifications (some mentioning that they do not get notifications as a buyer either) how confident is a shop that their buyer has received all of the notifications from Etsy that the shop thinks they did.
Me too.
Still happening for me. Just had another one today. Should we respond? Does if affect our star rating if we don't respond?
Same..up to 3 now. I just assumed that since I started the messaging …this “glitch” message would be considered a response. HOPE I am right!!!
Same here- this has been going on since last week for me. Seems like when their package gets delivered I'm getting the message I originally sent letting them know there order was on its way sent back to me. I reached out to Etsy support late last week about it, but its still happening
Etsy is sending me old conversations from previous orders . Its my reply to them thanking them for their order that is being sent to me
I have had 6 this morning so far ! and dating from middle of april!
Same here and messages are from a couple of weeks ago! It's not just you.
Yes me too, starting yesterday - it doesn't 'appear' to be affecting my metrics, and it isn't sending my weekend auto-replies so I don't think the system is considering them to be new contacts as far as the stats are concerned.
Needs sorting out though!
@BrightHeartDesign thanks so much for that insight. Was concerned it may affect stats but couldn't see it doing so from what I could see. But don't use auto replies generally so couldn't test that way - so your experience of that does at least seem encouraging. have an amazing weekend!
I’m currently experiencing a weird thing on my dashboard where old messages are highlighted as if I’ve received a new message. Not sure if anyone else is getting this? When I click on the message, it’s usually an old message that I’ve replied to. It’s happened three or four times now.
Several other people have mentioned this. I suggest searching the forum and look at the most recent posts for 'messages'.
yes, it is happening to me too.
Yes I also had this happening
Yes, got the same! The dashboard got changed, then all kinds of things can go haywire...
I am getting duplicate messages for all of my sent messages - they show up back in my inbox and are not new incoming messages....
I had that happen too, just this morning! My own message to a customer appeared in my inbox like a message from a customer.
Also, a message came in from a customer yesterday but there was no content.
So strange
Me too.
In last few days suddenly all my messages sent to my buyers appear as a new messages in my inbox. At the end of the day i have to go in and "mark read" my own sent messages in order to reset Inbox new message count. I send messages to all my customers, so this is extra and unnecessary step that is slowing down my workflow. Seem like ETSY enabled BCC feature for all sent messages. Is there a way to disable this?
Between this and the new crippled dashboard, this is a massive step back in our workflow for no visible gain.
ig
There were a few threads about this yesterday. Seems as though it was an Etsy hiccup.
I've gotten 6 of my messages back so far. Between this and the huge variations mess up I think IT needs to get it together.
Appears to be a glitch. I would report it to Etsy or find a thread in Technical Issues that has a strong presence. The more sellers affected by this report it the likelier it is to get fixed faster.
