Hello,
I had a few messages responses that was calculated incorrectly. One customer preferred me to contact her by email and that is what I did. The other one I replied to, but my reply is on a different message thread than the one the customer originally wrote. I'm not sure how that happened, but it didn't get counted. I might can understand the one who wanted me to contact her by email because Etsy could not have known, but the other one the system should have picked up on.
@LoveLiveintheMoment : Look at the appropriate CSV file to see which threads Etsy thinks you did not answer. You could have replied to the one message with something like "eMail on its way to you".
The Star Seller metric is that the FIRST message of a NEW thread must be replied to (or marked as spam) within 24 hours. Subsequent messages from the same account (a buyer may have multiple accounts) are supposed to be combined into a single thread.
At least for the time being, it appears that marking an unanswered message as SPAM (even after the 24 hour deadline has passed) will cause your reply percentage to change in a day or two if the original message was within the current star seller period.
Look and see if you have any unanswered messages.
