My message response has been negatively effected by 20%. This was caused by the same buyer sending messages for 5 days about the same item, the first message she sent I replied immediately. Then she just kept asking more and more questions. I was starting to think she was a scammer or just a time waster, as her first message said she would like me to send something quickly but then she took 5 days to place the order. I have sent the item this morning using next day delivery. This is so unfair as her messages were ridiculous and repetitive. And now I’ve lost star seller for January.
@KadiesCollectibles: You need to reply to the FIRST message of a NEW THREAD within 24 hours. It does not matter who sent it, the subject matter, if it is a duplicate or blank or anything else. If it is SPAM then it should be marked as such.
Etsy is now putting a blue text warning / advisory on those messages they consider to be a "new message" but is really a new thread.
At least for the time being, it appears that marking an unanswered message as SPAM (even after the 24 hour deadline has passed) will cause your reply percentage to change in a day or two if the original message was within the current star seller period. But be aware that doing so may cause other messages from that account to do directly into the SPAM folder.
You have to respond to every first message in a new message thread by answering or marking as spam.
Mark her messages as spam now
