I received a message from Etsy stating my account has been ranked suspicious. They want an email to confirm. I sent it but it states it cannot recieve mg nessage and to contact support. But I can't find a way to talk to anyone
that's a scam - Etsy already has your email!
It is a scam, do not give them any information, do not click on links or scan QR codes. Put it in your spam folder.
Etsy already has all your information, including your email
Thank you. I am confused because it is under mg Etsy seller page in messages
The scammers are replicating the Etsy logo and registering buyer accounts with the Etsy name in it.
Etsy will never contact you via messenger for private, personal, financial information or get you to click on external links, verification or ask you to download anything.
But is it in the “from Etsy” folder, or just in message, look using a browser.
@Furliebeundgeld Is it in the folder marked Etsy? If not then the other attempts are scams.
Since you can't reply Etsy has already removed the account.
Simply mark the message as spam.
Be very careful with messages as there are so so many scams about. Always log in to your account to check details and never ever click on any link in an email.
@Furliebeundgeld: "I sent it but it states it cannot recieve mg nessage and to contact support." If you are getting "The username you have entered is not a valid Etsy user" message that almost always means that the account has been closed (either by the person or by Etsy - in this case probably the latter). Just in case, try to mark the message as SPAM.
They can't respond because Etsy has already blocked them as a scammer. Any time you get a message saying Etsy needs your email, it is a scam. You gave Etsy your email address when you opened your account, so why would they ask for it? Had you reached them, they would have sent you to a website that looked like Etsy's, but wasn't, then tried to steal financial information from you. By responding, if they had gotten your message, that would validate your email address was a good one, and then they would sell it to other scammers and pretty soon you would be inundated with spammers trying to steal from you.
Just mark such messages as Spam without replying and move on.
