Message Response Rate Glitch

For some reason, and it has happened 3 times in a row now, despite replying to each of the messages within the hour, the day after I receive a message my response rate drops to 91% or 92% because the download message history shows I have not responded.  Although I mark the message as scam and the following day my message response rate goes back to 100%, this is not a solution. This could have implications for my star seller status if I receive (and reply) to a message on the last day of the month but the following day it shows as not having been responded to because marking it as spam on the 1st of the month will not show in the stats until the following day, by which time I will have lost my star seller status.    HELP !!

"Messages sent on the last two days of the 3-month review period may be excluded from the current review period and counted towards the next period instead. This is to allow Sellers a full 24 hours to respond and not be penalized for messages received late on the final day of the review period..."

@FaceTheMosaic: Do you use an Etsy app (which one on which operating system) or a mobile or desktop browser to initially reply to Messages?
