Mark as SPAM no longer works

Mark as SPAM no longer works.

Just trying to "mark as spam" one harassing buyer. It used to work with no problem but no more. No longer can you mark a harassing buyer as SPAM to stop them from harassing you.

It doesn't happen overnight and it might take you 2-4 times to hit the spam button because bully's will always want the last word. The key is to ignore them and keep hitting SPAM until eventually they go away. If you respond to them- then Etsy will think you don't mean it and you will have to start over again.

Tell them to stop contacting you or you will report them to Etsy then DO it via the harassment link. (If they have a legit issue you need to take care of it)

Re: Mark as SPAM no longer works

You can report a Message as spam to remove it from your Message inbox. However, you will continue to receive emails about new replies in that Message.

This doesn’t send a report to Etsy. If you’re experiencing harassment, you should Contact support.

Re: Mark as SPAM no longer works

@SurnamePro "Spam" is working for me. You need to use the checkbox to select the message and "Mark as Spam" from the menu at the top of the Message Page.. This does not prevent the sender opening new messages. If the message is "harrasing", you need to report it

Re: Mark as SPAM no longer works

@SurnamePro

Are they sending multiple new messages? If so then that is why they are still going through. Mark as spam only works for that individual message thread and replies to that thread. It moves the message and all replies to your spam folder so you don't see them unless you look for them. If the sender starts a whole new thread it will show up in your inbox until that one is also marked as spam and moved to your spam folder.

Again, 'mark as spam' only marks that individual message thread as spam not all messages from that user. You will need to mark each individual message thread as spam for them to stop. I would also send etsy support an email if it's harassment issue. They are very prompt in dealing with harassment and harassment is one of the options in the click chain of issues.
