I have sent three emails to Etsy regarding Plaid, including screenshots of Plaid's message about being unable to connect to my bank account. Etsy's response has been unhelpful. They've sent canned responses that do not work. I am now unable to accept payments because I cannot connect to Plaid. What is a seller to do?
I feel sabotaged by Etsy's policy. Communication is nonexistent.
Use the instant. I did mine that way and the entire process took less than 10 minutes.
@NanaLetha thats great if you want to allow a 3rd party to have access to your account, i'm sure you have read all the posts regarding plaid. But please continue to tell sellers to offer their login and password to a source that is being sued for not keeping data private.
.
I set up my account manually but had no issues, I'm not sure why you are having a problem. Good luck trying to get Etsy to respond.
@DouxBonheur: Often the first responses you get from customer support are automated replies meant to weed out the people who contact support over common issues that can be easily solved.
Every eMail from Etsy support should have a link something like "I Still Need Help". Click on that link in each reply from Etsy (or actually reply stating that you still need help) to keep the report alive otherwise Etsy will assume that it is resolved. You may have to do this innumerable times, before anything is done but do not give up. DO NOT open a new issue or contact Etsy multiple times about the same issue (doing so closes the one you already opened and puts the new one on the bottom of the pile).
I have selected "I still need help," but so far, no help has been given.
What is your exact issue? Is it not accepting your bank account number?
I input all the information and receive a "Something went wrong" error message.
It does not matter how many times I try to connect my bank account manually; it does not work.
Etsy is no help other than threatening to suspend my shop for noncompliance.
@catfluff - I gave no one my login info because it's all encrypted!
Have you tried another browser? Another device?
I'll try a different browser. Thanks.
Many sellers were having issues getting Plaid to accept their account number. If you're getting a "Something Went Wrong" message instead of a message saying your account # was wrong, I wonder if it's a browser issue or Etsy glitch? Have you tried clearing cache/cookies, trying a different browser or device, or signing out and back in again? I know a few shops have posted here saying they couldn't get the page to even load.
Will try a different browser. Thanks.
The solution to my problem is to use MS Edge. Chrome seems to be the problem. Thanks to those who suggested using a different browser. Why couldn't Etsy suggest this?
I'm glad it finally worked for you! Usually if something isn't working quite right on a website, I will troubleshoot by trying a different browser & clearing cache & cookies. That is fairly standard troubleshooting. I also have issues with my VPN not playing nice with some websites too.
@CanningCrafts: "I also have issues with my VPN not playing nice with some websites too." Many sites flag, restrict, or block traffic from known VPN provider IP addresses.
