Made to order digital orders showing with a ship by date

Hi, for some reason the digital orders I have received today for made-to-order downloads are showing in my open orders tab with a ship by date. I can't see anywhere in the listing where you can edit the shipping time and Im worried that this will effect my star seller badge when Im not able to make the deadline thats showing

Is this a glitch or am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

I think it's a glitch. One that arises if you edited a "custom digital" listing that was listed as physical. I think it ghosts the processing time from when it was a physical listing, even though you change it to a made to order digital.

Hi, I have the same problem, have Etsy been able to solve it or have you managed to fix it in some way? Does it have a negative impact on not delivering digital delivery "on time"? Thanks in advance!

Recreate the listings from scratch instead of editing previously physical to digital

Unfortunately I can't do that, I changed my listings from physical to digital instead of making them from scratch because they have hundreds of likes and almost constant sales and a good place in the search, so making new listings would be like shooting myself in the foot...

I believe the "Made to order" digital downloads willl have a ship date because you as the seller will have to upload the file to the order after the order is placed. You will have a button to click where you download the file at when you click on the order. I did this before for a customer that was a personalized digital download. Once you upload the file, it will marked completed or "shipped". The "ship date" is the time frame you have to download the file to the order, at least that is my understanding.

Made to Order digital doesn't have processing times and therefore doesn't have a ship by date.

There is no shipping section on made to order digital, and therefore no processing time which is the only place it exists.

If you create a made to order digital listing, you can see that there is no where to enter a processing time.

You are correct. I see that now. I can't remember how I did it for a customer before. I uploaded the file the same day after they placed the order so I can't recall a "shipping date". 

Maybe the OP accidently did the listing as physical instead of a digital like others stated, which could be a reason why they have a ship by date or it could be a glitch.

The OP who posted in january, edited a physcial to a made to order digital, and my original reply shows that it was a bug.

I know this is an old post, but I am having the same issue as well. I sell made to order digital items (branding services) and some of my projects take weeks to complete. My customers are aware of this because some of my branding packages include dozens of items, so the processing time isn't an issue, however this glitch is causing my orders to show up as having a "ship by" date of two to three days after the order is placed.  

I have contacted Etsy twice now and both times I've been informed that not shipping these orders within that time frame will impact my shop in a negative way and affect my placement in search. Also, they said there's nothing they can do on their end and that it is a known glitch but that they are not sure when it will be resolved. 

Does anyone know how to fix this? Is there anything I can do on my end to stop this from happening? it's so frustrating and disheartening.

I've just had this after swapping my physical listing to a digital listing. But luckily my dispatch is 9 days which is more than enough time.

@mandowlayou could send them a thank you document after they have ordered which explains what happens now etc.

That would satisfy the system that a file has been sent over within the dispatch time I guess.

But you could also get the customers email address and send the actual file there once complete. Communication is allowed by email if it's about the order.
