So I lost my Star Seller rating this month due to a typo.
In the old Etsy seller app, if there was a typo in my tracking numbers, I would know because the app wouldn't have recognized it as sending through USPS. In the new app, that doesn't happen anymore and I just have to type in the number without a confirmation that it's correct.
On the 17th I apparently shipped 14 orders that were off by one number - I didn't realize this because they showed up the same as usual that everything was in transit. I had one customer reach out to me this week about where their item was since their tracking hadn't been updated and when I looked I realized it was a typo. I found the receipt with the right number and I sent them the corrected tracking for the item which had already been delivered - hooray!
But then I got an email saying I didn't make Star Seller this month (which baffled me) and when I downloaded all the tracking info, I saw that it said 14 orders were "missing tracking". I double checked them all and they weren't missing tracking, they just had the typo that leads to USPS saying they can't find that right now. I have the receipt for proof that I did send them with tracking.
Is there a way to fix this on my account? A typo shouldn't mean I lose my Star Seller rating during my most important sales month of the year!
Unfortunately no they won't fix that.. I copy pasted one today and had the thought "Make sure you don't clip off that last number!" . I would edit them and see if they update so you don't have to fight them for 2 more months.
No way to fix it now. Buy Etsy labels and the tracking numbers automatically fill in.
So does PS but I had someone purchase 2 items separately, so I had to add the TN to complete the sale.
You have 3 days to correct the number. Etsy will not change for typos. If you had caught it early enough to change the TN then you would have been fine. If you are adding the TN and not using Pirateship or Etsy labels, check the number to make sure you entered it correctly.
It happened to me once, and now I triple-check the number before completing.
Etsy has said they will not manually change anything pertaining to star seller.
@BroadwayDorkDesigns: Unfortunately an unsupported shipping company or invalid / unverified tracking number equals shipped without tracking.

Chalk it up as a lesson learned. It happened to me once, and now I am super careful about it.
