Hello - I used my seller account to make a purchase from another Etsy shop and the owner sent me follow up info via messenger. There was no reason to reply to her message. However, because I did not message her back my star seller status is now being lost/revoked.
I am very diligent in answering my customers within 24 hours, shipping on time, etc and don’t think it’s fair that I’m being penalized and losing my star seller badge when this transaction has nothing to do with my shop or customer(s).
Is there any recourse or anything we can do? (I now know not to use my shop account for personal purchases, but wondering if anything can be done in the interim?)
Thank you for any assistance anyone can provide.
- Ellie
You have to reply to all new messages and that includes the sellers message to you. Or spam the message.
The system is not programmed to differentiate between you as buyer and you as seller.
Read the information on the program.
The data is correct. Etsy has VERY clearly said that all messages both as a buyer and a seller must be answered. It has been this way since the program started. You can try marking the message as spam and see if that will help for next month.
Read the criteria for star seller. It's very clear about replying to all messages or marking as spam.
