Hi friends! How can I hide my location on Etsy? I don’t like that it says what city I’m from!
Why would you want to hide it?
You can edit that on your shop's home page. Click the big black edit shop button on the top left by your banner. Then you should see a pencil icon by the location. I think you might need to select a city though. I'm not sure if you can just list a state?
You can delete it from where you added your location, but you cannot from the "ships from."
I would leave it because buyers want to know where their money is going.
And why would you want it not showing?
Your shop name has UT at the end of it so that tells people where you are located anyway.
If you remove your location then you will not show up when people filter to see results from the US only as the search engine will not know where you are from.
@SouthernScrubsUT If you want to make sales and have a successful business, you will want your city/state indicated. Many will not purchase if they don't see it. They want to know where their money is going, and wonder what you have to hide?
Just as @JustMeToo has said.
As a buyer, it begs the question "what else is this seller hiding" In order to be successful selling online, you need to be honest and transparent.
You sell to the EU/UK
you have to have your address and e-mail address in sellers details, with the trader box ticked, so everyone can see where you live
add it now,
or stop selling to the EU/UK
You also need to show the shop owner.
All of the above especially since you are selling cosmetic type things people put on their skin.
OP, I wrote out a long post and Etsy poofed it. Happens.
basically you should ask for a critique. I'm not typing all of what I wrote again. But you are not in compliance with Etsy's rules on making claims (also the FDA's...) as well as the proper labeling requirements (also per the FDA).
insurance also strongly suggested.
Hiding your location looks super shady, especially since you are selling cosmetics without the proper labelling.

You also need to prove that your items are made in a sanitary, safe facility if you want people to trust you enough to purchase.
