Listing removed without explanation – need assistance to reactivate handmade product

Hello Etsy Community & Support,

I am reaching out because one of my handmade listings was removed without explanation. I personally craft and design all my leather journals, and this particular listing took a lot of time and effort.

I have already submitted a case through Etsy Help, but I haven’t received any response yet.

Here are the details:
- All my products are handmade and original.
- I followed Etsy’s guidelines when creating the listing.
- I believe the removal was likely a mistake.

Can someone from the Etsy team please review this or guide me on the next steps? I truly depend on this platform for my small business and hope to get this resolved soon.

Thank you for your time and help.
– Ani (tajhandicraftgifts)

You have a problem because your items are all over the internet with identical photos, including in other Etsy shops.  Etsy no doubt believes they are, therefore, not handmade by you.  If they are, and they are all your own photos, you need to find the other images and issue take downs.  It is likely you will get more removals if you don't do this.

What @CatsWhiskersCurios said ... Etsy thinks you are reselling since your items (and same photos) are on Amazon, among other places

What was the actual item?

did it have word combinations that triggered the bots? Was the cover illustration made with AI and not disclosed? Is the exact same item available on cheap websites?

I have to say, the About section is concerning for me. All those images do not convey quality handmade craft when it looks like piles of poorly treated mass production waiting disposal. And the fancy font is not the easiest to read.

Re: Listing removed without explanation – need assistance to reactivate handmade product

hello
I want to clarify that my products are completely handmade by me and my small team The listing that Etsy removed is my own original work, and all the photos were clicked by me.

Unfortunately, many other sellers have copied my images and are using them without permission on various platforms like Amazon and Etsy. I have full proof, including original files and behind-the-scenes photos.

I have started sending DMCA takedown notices. But my genuine listing was removed instead of the fake ones. That’s why I’ve contacted Etsy Support and requested them to please reactivate my listing.

I’m happy to provide any proof needed. I just want to protect my handmade brand and continue selling honestly.

Thank you for understanding.

@TajhandicraftGifts   You are not talking to Etsy here.  You are talking to fellow sellers.

We are finding your items elsewhere on the Internet.  So has Etsy.  You need to find the places that have stolen your photos, issue takedown notices and then inform Etsy you have done so.

Are you using a POD?  Do you have an arrangement with them that they cannot sell your items elsewhere?

Also the sheer number of items listed, it seems difficult to believe you are making all of them individually.  If you have others making  they need to be listed in your about page.

Nice books! And I mean that since I have several that are identical to the ones in your shop.

I got them from various sources:

Sedona AZ (available in almost every shop that sells crystals)
Fourth Ave Tucson AZ
Bisbee AZ
Las Vegas NV

and a few online. I love them.

If you are making them yourself, not just the one disassembled in your about video, then you have a ton of work cut out getting those retail stores to stop selling your product. Your [sale] prices are somewhat in line with what I paid for mine so when you aren't running a sale, those shops are selling your product and undercutting you big time.

I shudder to think of the time it will take to have all your products removed from all those place. I've had to do it a few times with Temu, Aliexpress, Etsy, Facebook and TikTok, all were time consuming and not all complied. Specifically Aliexpress because I was not willing to give them access to my process or private data.

It's going to be a logistical nightmare! Even Wal-Mart has them. I'm exhausted just thinking of how much work will go into getting every place to comply.

My suggestion, keep records of your takedown requests. Print or save any documentation and it's a bit easier if you create a standard boilerplate C&D that you can tweak depending on the outlet.

I did get a chuckle of the pile of books with the green centers since I have that exact same one! Clearly popular : )

I found a couple of online dealers selling them wholesale, and using the same photos, presumably this seller’s supplier…
