Listing is deactivating after a sale

A long standing top-selling listing is deactivating and not renewing after each sale. It has plenty of inventory left. I have to renew it manually after each sale. I am losing sales because I am unable to renew manually right away. Has anyone else had this issue and knows how to correct it? It all began with Etsy's newly implemented pre-set processing profiles.

Re: Listing is deactivating after a sale

Are you still able to click the automatic renewal on this listing?  Some are having issues with it, so I don’t know if it’s site wide or another lovely test.

The listing is always set to automatic renewal.

@CedarHillBotanicals   Does the listing have variations?  Do the variations have quantity attached to them?  That might be the reason it is not renewing.

Or it just may be a glitch some are experiencing.

Re: Listing is deactivating after a sale

I can't stand the new processing profiles!! You're probably correct that it has something to do with that.  I recently had 2/3 of my listings expire, and I know that I had them set to automatically renew.  So then I had to renew them all manually and change them back to auto renew all at the same time...  And because I had originally staggered listings intentionally, to keep my shop management frequently active, I find this frustrating since they now have the same renewal date.  Also, the processing profiles didn't really match my settings, so I had to go through and fix them.  My shipping profiles already had the different processing times built in, so I don't understand Etsy's reasons for doing this.  It's redundant, and just adds to the time spent setting up a new listing, since now it's two steps instead of one.  I'm hopeful that my auto renew settings will stay on now, but since my situation was different than yours, I won't know until they either renew or expire.  My listings that sell, seem to replenish and reset ok (so far)  I hope you can get this resolved quickly since it's affecting a frequently purchased listing!

Oh, how frustrating and time-consuming! I hope it is all set for you now. I’ve emailed them and of course no response yet. They really need to bring back a phone number for sellers to call when they need help.

The phone number was removed because it was being abused.  I doubt Etsy will ever bring that back.

There are no variations. Its been glitching for the last 4 days. Hoping it will correct itself sooner than later.

It is a shame the sellers help phone line was eliminated especially for the sellers who didn’t abuse it.

Re: Listing is deactivating after a sale

I am having this issue on my listings - each time one sells it deactivates and doesnt renew even though they are all set to auto renew.  So the problem you think is linked to these new processing profiles? Which btw I just had issues with as well and had to ask for etsy support.

So is there something I should be doing about this because its not just a particular listings, its each time an item sells it goes inactive despite plenty of inventory and its even the same listing over and over that its happening to.

Re: Listing is deactivating after a sale

@DashingDogCompany: "... all set to auto renew." Manual / auto renew only affects if listings renew at expiration. All listings should renew at sale if the remaining quantity is greater than zero so there is definitely a back end glitch, perhaps related to the change in shipping / processing time profiles.

Here's a thread about the same issue:  an item sells with more available, and it doesn't automatically renew.  Unfortunately, there is no solution there. But it suggests there is some kind of glitch on Etsy's end:

Re: Listing is deactivating after a sale

It might be due to this, it this is the listing you are having issues with,

"Yes, "Xanax" is a registered trademark, specifically of Pharmacia & Upjohn Company LLC, now part of PfizerIt's the brand name for the prescription medication alprazolam, used to treat anxiety and panic disorders. It cannot be copyrighted, as trademarks protect brand names and not the actual drug"

Re: Listing is deactivating after a sale

This ^^^^^^
And the OP has "Xanax" in the title but spells it "Zanax" on the products.

Selling this implies it's a substitute for the prescription Xanax which is not a good idea at all.

Re: Listing is deactivating after a sale

Any mention of the FDA whether saying it is FDA approved or NOT FDA approved will get you a bot removal. Or any of these:

Regardless of accuracy or legality, some types of disease claims are prohibited on Etsy. Though this list is not exhaustive, we do not allow explicit or implied claims that an item:

  • Can treat, mitigate, diagnose, or cure a serious disease or medical condition, such as cancer or heart disease
  • Can treat, mitigate, diagnose, or cure sexual dysfunction or impotence
  • Is, or is as effective as, an analgesic, antibiotic, antiseptic, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, steroid, vaccine, or decongestant
  • Is, or is as effective as, a prescription drug
  • Is approved by the FDA

calling something "liquid Xanax" infers it is a Xanax replacement...not allowed copyright/tm aside. If they are deactivating it and YOU are reacctivating it, you are putting your entire shop in jeopardy of closure.
