Hi Everyone,
I'm on Etsy since 2014 and now my bestseller has been deactivated by Etsy for violating creative standards.
This listing has been on Etsy since the beginning of my shop, I have sold 1400 cat caves on order thanks to this listing. Now I'm completely invisible on Etsy search because my other listings seem not to be interesting to Etsy search.
I tried to contact Etsy support in chat but they did not help me, they say it violated creative standards but they are not specific. I pointed out to them that they are all my creations, the design is mine and I make them personally by hand. Photos and videos are mine. But there is no way to ask for a review.
The ridiculous thing is that on Etsy resellers who have copied my cave design and made the caves in Nepal sell without problems. I think I am one of the few true felt artisans on Etsy, most of felts are made in Nepal in mass and resold. This is how Etsy protects craftsmanship
Any suggestions are welcome please
Daniela
If there are other sellers using your photos, then you need to do a reverse image search, and issue dcma takedown copyright notices to them.
It is your responsibility to police your IP.
If they are your photos, they are also stealing your sales, and etsy is paying megabucks to compete against them in search
No they don't use my photos, they only copy my design but anyone can see the different quality of products between mine and their.
So I don't know why Etsy think that my listing doesn't respect Creativity Standards
I am so sorry this has happened to you. Can you contact Etsy through the website and then respond to the email they send?
This bothers me greatly and is going to sound so silly....it was a cat cave that started me felting. Many years ago I saw one, bought a bunch of felt and taught myself. I never did make a bed, but instead all kinds of felted animals.
Please keep us updated and I sincerely hope you can get your listing back.
I see you have your own website. If you are using the same photo in both places, it's likely the Etsy bots have decided you're reselling. I would make sure you have different product photos for here and there. If the removed listing had the same photos in both places, you could try contacting Etsy and telling them that the other site is also you.
Yes, I used the same photos on my site too, since I opened... so several years... my website has the same name as my Etsy shop so it shouldn't be difficult to Etsy know that it's still me the owner, there's also my birth name and my data in my website. It's not forbidden to sellers sell on our own site, right?
Unfortunately, chat support says that they can't do anything and that I have to rely only on the email I received and that the listing cannot be reactivated. The email I received was from noreply@etsy.com from Etsy Trust and Safety Staff and seems it is not possible to contact them to reply or ask for a rectification of their decision
Thank you, I appreciate your understanding, unfortunately the email I received was from noreply@etsy.com and I can't find anywhere how to contact the Etsy safety and trust staff. I love my work and I started to felt for my cats, I wanted to earn money to take care of them and it became my main job and my Etsy Shop allowed me to sell my cat caves all over the world. After 11 years this is really disorienting
That sucks. I feel for you. Etsy does indeed seem more interested in their bottom line rather than cracking down on mass production and rampant AI. “Keeping commerce human.” Riiiiggghhhtt …
