Hello,
Etsy removed one of my listing for violating Etsy's Creativity Standards. This listing was active from past 5 years and there isn't any changes made from my end as well and I've checked everything, there isn't any violation. Received a confirmation that a specialist is looking into your matter but it has been 2 weeks my issue is still pending. I don't know whether they're doing anything or not on this.
Can anyone please HELP!
Much has changed in the past 5 years. Now AI is scanning the internet for images. When they find the same products and images available by many other sellers and in most cases for much less, then the AI is probably marking the item as being a mass produced item.
You need to send Etsy a video, showing you making these items by hand and actively contact these other sites and sellers to remove your designs and images before any more are removed or your shop is closed down for good.
Other sellers have reported that it took longer than 2 weeks for the problem to be resolved. The Community Specialist who posted on your other OP only replied five days ago, so you'll have to give it more time while the ''specialist team'' looks into it. Have you received an email from them yet?
However, the other replies on your OP from 2 weeks ago make some suggestions that maybe your listing wasn't removed in error:
Solved: Listing Removed for Violating Creativity Standards... - Welcome to the Etsy Community
Etsys creativity standards, and photo standards have dramatically changed
Things that were fine only a month ago are no longer OK.
1. You have production partners listed, have you linked those to the listings that your production partners make for you? I checked quite a few, and didn't see any.
2. are your photos actual photos of the finished items, not mockups.
3, are your photos used anywhere else - even if they are stolen from you.
do a reverse image search, if people have stolen your photos, do DCMA takedowns to the sites they are on.
Your journal is available on Ebay, Amazon, Reddit and others. So, either they all need to be challenged to be taken down or they are mass produced. You can do an image search to find whichever listing was taken down.
If they are mass produced, do not be surprised if you encounter further issues in the future.
Have you received an update on this from Etsy? I am dealing with the same issue.
If you're labeled designed by then it shouldn't being removed but if many have the same photo then I'm not surprised it's getting flagged.
I waited a month last time this happened to me before a human looked at my proof and reinstated things.
Have more listings flagged by AI by mistake and I am going on 5 weeks of waiting. Time to reach out to media sources to see if they want to investigate and publish a story on how so many Etsy sellers are having to deal with this.
And instead of watch your email and they are working on it as we speak…..another item got removed.
Now I have a warning that the next one will suspend my shop! I can only think the magnetic clasps are what the AI is flagging as dangerous, but they are fully allowed and widely used. I am going to loose my livelihood due to the lack of help and human AI oversite!
you keep saying they are fully allowed.
where does it say that?
i know etsy changed the policy on magnets.
and for awhile they were removing bazillions of them.
i would remove all things with the word magnet in them.
until you hear from someone.
@nineteen27 I read the policy on magnets and there is a strength rating that these are no way close to that. and they are not loose.
Maybe I have to have a safety disclaimer? but that is not stated either. Main issue it’s been 5 weeks with trust and safety not responding.
I did remove them…..so obviously those sales are gone, but randomly I get a handmade flag that I have to clear up (and eventually do), but it will only take one of those to suspend me for god knows how long until I can get Etsy to sort it out.
i hope you sell somewhere else too.
and have a website.
you cannot depend on etsy for your only income.
they can and do close shops.
just... like...that...
and it can take months to have them re-open it...
if they decide they want to.
Well, I got my dangerous items cleared by a human after 5 plus weeks and many phone calls and blowing up social media.
Now not even a week later another item gets flagged for the same thing that was already cleared.
AND a item was flagged a second time that was already cleared for creativity standards.
So now my new responses to the support ticked go unanswered for yet another week.
This is madness!!!!!
