I have been having this issue for more than a month. If I search in the shop search bar for something like "peacock card" not all of my items show up in the results. I have one card in particular with a pigeon and a peacock, and if I search for "peacock pigeon" it does not show up in my shop search results.
However when I go into Listings and search for "peacock card" the card does show up as being in my shop.
(And before anyone asks, yes all of the images I use are either free from copyright, or I have permission from the artist's descendants, or they are my own images. So don't fret about what I am selling, thanks.)
I am concerned that potential buyers cannot find all the items I have available for sale. I have worked long and hard to list items, and to have them not show up when someone searches in my own store is frustrating.
This is clearly a bug of some sort, or I am somehow being throttled. Can someone at Etsy please address this issue? Thanks.
"Peacock" brings up 10 results, "Peacock card" 6 results but "Pigeon" no results within your shop
Which item do you think should show up for "pigeon" ?
The listing title is:
Peacock Card - Pigeons Compete with Pea *ock - Farm Life Artwork (it won't let me type the C word here, maybe that's why it's missing?)
And interestingly if I type it into Google my card comes right up.
@KatyDidsCards I tried the search in shop bar and it worked. The card came up anyway I searched using the words you were using.
Be sure you have assigned the missing cards to one of your shop sections. If it isn't in a section then I don't think it will show up.
It is assigned to a shop section, thanks.
@JJewellerySuppliesUK "If it isn't in a section then I don't think it will show up." - not true. Any live listing is searchable in your shop. Check out my UPS upgrade if you don't believe me. @KatyDidsCards
If I search for pea *ock (2 words) I get 1 item, the competing card. (I spelled it correctly on your page with a space in-between).
If I search for pea *ock pigeons I get the same item.
But if I search for peacock pigeons, I get 0 results.
If I search for peacock I get 12 results (but not for that item I got above about the peacock competing).
Then there's this. If I search for peacocks, I get 13 results INCLUDING the card about the peacock competing.
Any chance do you have pea *ock as 2 words in your tags on that competing card?
If so Etsy is probably shadow banning that card unless someone actually types peacock as 2 words instead of 1 word.
I went to Etsy's main search page and searched for:
peacock pigeon competing card.
It was on the 1st page, 1st listing.
Then I searched for:
pea *ock pigeon competing card
Same results.
Ohhh, I DO have Pea *ock as one of my keywords, I'll bet that's it!
Silly Etsy.
I giggle because the word *ock is frequently used by poultry breeders (as I am) instead of the word rooster. So it's not offensive at all in my head.
Thanks for the tip!
Hmmm
Now when I search for Peacock I get 11 results --including the Peacock and Pigeons card which didn't show up before
It also now shows up for a Pigeon search
I had this happen not so long ago with some listings. I deactivate them for an hour & then reactivated them. It seem to clear it up.
Oh that's a good idea, thanks!
I have the same problem, all my listings don't show up when i search for them within my shop search bar. I have contacted etsy support many times but no help from them. The problem is still persist, am i banning from search results ??
@Former_Member it appears that your shop is not indexed for Etsy search. You need to contact Etsy support directly (via shop manager / Help / Contact us) and ask them to reindex your shop.
@Amaradorn i have opened many tickets asking them to index my shop but no luck.and latelly They stopped reply to my emails
@Former_Member I'm sorry, I don't know what else to suggest.
@Former_Member: "i have opened many tickets ..." Every eMail from Etsy support should have a link something like "I Still Need Help". Click on that link in each reply from Etsy (or actually reply stating that you still need help) to keep the report alive otherwise Etsy will assume that it is resolved. You may have to do this innumerable times, before anything is done but do not give up. DO NOT open a new issue or contact Etsy multiple times about the same issue (doing so appears to close the one you already opened and puts the new one on the bottom of the pile).
