Just wondering why all pertinent item information has been moved below the customer reviews for other items that have nothing to do with the item I'm looking at (on Firefox/PC). This makes no sense. At first I didn't even know they were moved and thought it was a browser issue so I contacted support that just gave me a bunch of suggestions to fix the problem. They didn't even mention that the information moved. Then again when I go on Etsy with Edge, everything shows up where it's supposed to to, so maybe it is still a browser issue? I hope it's not a permanent change.
@VintageGlassResale: There are a lot of threads about this in this forum including https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Item-descriptions-missing-from-listing-on-buyer-side/...
I just tried to inquire about this and could not get any info. this is NOT a good move! We didnt get any pre-warning about this!!! I hate it! People want to know the info...It's hard enough to get them to read thru the description (as Etsy info implies) why would you put it at the total BOTTOM where absolutely NO ONE will take the time to look???? This defies any intelligent move.. I totally don't under stand this.Definitely a handicap move for sellers..Can ANYONE explain this move?
I myself shop on Etsy and noticed I couldnt get the item info. I left the shop...Who wants to purchase something they can't get info on? NOT
It's an absurd test. I don't know if I'm in it today (haven't viewed a listing). But I was recently in it. If it were above the Reviews, it would make sense. But not on the Left, way below the Reviews, with gaping white space on the Right, where it was. Buyers who are in the test may very well think the Seller didn't type a Description. Why hide important information? (rhetorical) Why make shopping harder for Buyers (providing of course, they don't get fed up and bolt before they find the Description's hiding place.
Ok I'm looking at my listings and it dawns on me that I am now in the test. I am not computer savvy, but I can get by. It's not only the hiding of the description, it's a computer controlling what I see and when I see it. There's a possibility the "add to cart box" might cause me to buy it if it follows me while I try to find the hidden description. It might take over my mind causing me to potentially charge hundreds of dollars worth of fake handmade antiques as I scroll down and down past the reviews and finally find the description. These techie people just want everything busy and flicking here and there. Example- watching trials on you tube. The commercials are twice as loud and abrupt intrusions. If I don't want sensory overload, I can get a premium subscription and pay for it for the rest of my life. It's not advertising - it's mind control.
Oh I so hope the Etsy staff who care about the Etsy business ( is that even a possibility ?) read these forums and pass it on. Preferably somebody with some sense and realizes what was once an incredible opportunity for people is looking shoddy and desperate. All the gimmicks and money grabs and cheaters suck and at one time Etsy was way more sincere. I know change keeps things fresh, but it's idiotic to do some of what they do.
I am getting that experience now trying to shop and get a feel for things on Etsy. It's too much. Anytime you are on a computer it's like ADD. Trying to read news online and everything is moving covering up what you are trying to read. So I am old...
I can view your descriptions. Just click on each tab.
I contacted etsy too, to ask if there was a glitch as my listing details were missing, to be told that it was a "trial".
For what purpose ?, It is an absolutely crazy idea as It is the most important part of your item listing to describe it well, so there is no confusion of condition or size scale of your item, but if its hidden and the buyer just buys an item and is then unhappy as they saw no details on it, then they are going to send it back and most likely give you a poor seller rating too.
