The rate of inquiries from buyers on questions that are easily answered in the descriptions has increased drastically. The "Learn More About This Item" need to read Item description instead as well as be closer to the top. Customers I have had for years that shop on their computers have been emailing me because they can't find the item descriptions, which I do, and they are much more comprehensive that Etsy's bothersome attributes that have to be filled out, half of which don't always apply or have the right choices. There is a difference between crystal and glass and copper, stainless steel, brass, gold fill, gold plate, rose gold fill, rose gold, silver fill, silver plate all have different values and meanings. I have gotten to where I put as much information as I can in the title, because many buyers cannot figure out how to get past the title. It makes for cumbersome printed orders, cumbersome downloads. It does seem a little easier to see on mobile phones, though no prominent, but it too far down on computers.
Also, on checkouts, I always have more than one seller's items in my cart. When I check out, I cannot enter a different coupon code or leave a message unless I move all but the one shop into save for later, even if entering "check out only this shop". I can't even see the cart to edit it before placing the order to even see how much it is going be. It is frustrating. I have also had multiple customers need to cancel orders because they end up checking out multiple sellers at once accidentally.
Learn more about this item is quite apparent. I have no problem.
However from what I see I would have problems with is reading your description. They are too detailed which means the details a buyer would need are getting lost in the length of the paragraphs. Fortunately the highlights had the information I would be looking for. I honestly really could not read the ones I looked at. It was just too much. However maybe it is just me.
As to the cart, I seldom buy from more than one shop at a time so I can't address that. I have though done a few and have been able to add the coupon by clicking on the coupon in the deals. I'll admit I never checked really to make sure all the coupons were applied but that is on me and not the system.
Thank you for your thoughts. Many of my customers say they buy from me because of my descriptions, as well as suggested colors. This shop is very detailed bridal, jewelry, and bridal accessories and demands more lengthy descriptions. Our other shop is Odyssey Cache, a supplies, mostly beads shop. People there often comment they love the descriptions as well, and that is where I get far more comments wanting information that is already noted in the description, and the descriptions are shorter there. As a buyer, they matter to me and I don't buy from people that don't readily include the proper details. To each their own though. Thanks again.
