I’ve encountered an issue with Etsy’s review system that has directly impacted my Star Seller badge, and I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar or found a solution.
Back in February, a customer left me a very positive review but accidentally rated it 3 stars instead of 5. After I reached out to her, she kindly edited the review on March 1st, correcting the rating to 5 stars.
The problem is that Etsy seems to use the modification date (March 1st) as the reference for the Star Seller calculation instead of the original review date (February). Because of this, I lost my Star Seller badge, even though I already meet all the requirements.
Since the next evaluation will happen in April, this issue has affected my status for an entire month. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to get Etsy to recognize the original review date for badge calculations?
I’d appreciate any insights or advice on how to resolve this!
If it wasn't corrected until March 1st, then it won't count until the next star seller update.
Yes, each month starts anew. Etsy will not change it. That is a bummer.
@Inventoom: Star Seller is based on a snapshot of your statistics taken on the 1st of the month. Subsequent changes will not affect that snapshot, otherwise if a customer changed their review to three stars from five stars you might lose your Star Seller retroactively.
Etsy calculates at midnight UTC on the last day of the month for star seller
they go though everything, for everyone, at the same time, and do it
at midnight , on 28th Feb, it was still 3*, so that's how it is counted for the star seller shown on your dashboard, Etsy counted it correctly
on March 31st, they re-calculate it, and use whatever star rating it is, on midnight UTC on 31st March
