I recieved this message in my message last night and am wondering if it is a scam.
Hello, this is your Etsy Staff employee speaking with you
Due to an update to our payment system and global security update, order processing for your account is currently suspended!
You will need to identify your store. As soon as this is done, it will be back up and running normally. Please fill out this form to verify your store: [This content has been removed by Moderation. Do not share unsafe links in the Forums.]
Sincerely, Etsy Staff.
That first sentence should be enough to know this is a scam.
If Etsy had any update to Etsy payments, they'd NEVER send you a message asking you to identify your shop.
This 1st sentence "Hello, This is your Etsy staff employee speaking to you" screams SCAM to me.
Lots of helpful info on the help pages and these forums.
Literally 1000's of posts about these scams since July 2023.
This is a SCAM to steal your money.
Etsy would never ever ask you to update anything through messages.
If anything needs updating on your account, you'll see a notice on your dashboard/finance page.

Thanks, I though as much. I did delete it.
I received the same message! When I clicked on the link there was a warning that I'd be leaving the Etsy site so I canceled and sent a message to Etsy support. I think it is a scam and I waiting to hear back.
Etsy is just telling sellers to mark the scam messages as spam.
@RockYourCrocsAU @GildedTimes Just wanted to add something in case you're not aware. The Seller App does not have the "From Etsy" Folder, nor does it allow you to Mark a Message as Spam. So you need to use a browser instead (or the Buyer App). *I don't use the App, but it is what others have said pertaining to this.
Thanks! I happened to be in the browser when I saw the message. Very strange!
Not strange because it is happening everyday here to hundreds of people. I can promise you it is a SCAM. Don't click on links. Read the Forums to educate yourself to spot these. People are getting fooled all too often.
