Is this Message to verify a scam?

Hi, I just created my store a few days ago. I received a notification of a purchase this morning but also a message that sends me to a link then a following 2nd message that says :

Regards! Your item has been purchased, transaction number #
ORDER ID: . Receipt in the portal!
Copy the Message above and add «𝘾𝙊𝙈»

There was both a transaction and order ID number but I removed it from this posting. However when I go to the link it says my shop is suspended and asking for my bank information to verify my shop. Is this a scam?

@SurrenderToServe  you have no sales - that would be your first clue.

@SurrenderToServe: You can always confirm if your shop has been suspended by Etsy by going to your shop home page - if it has been your listings will not be visible and will be replaced by a banner message.

Was the Message in the "From Etsy" section on your Messages page when checking messages using a browser? If not, it is a SCAM.

Re: Is this Message to verify a scam?

Never click on links in messages or emails - you can't always tell where they go. Navigate directly to the page you want to view e.g. You shop home page or shop manager and check the status there.

Legitimate messages from Etsy will appear in the 'From Etsy' folder of your message inbox. However Etsy rarely send messages and if it's something important they will email you directly.

Sales can be checked on your orders page in the shop manager.

If you clicked on any links run a virus and malware scan on your device immediately. A keystroke logger may have been planted on your device. Make sure that deice is clean!

Re: Is this Message to verify a scam?

Hello,

Etsy is actively engaged in preventing scammers from targeting our community members. If you receive a suspicious message, please proceed with caution. Etsy Support will never ask you to provide personal information via Etsy Messages, such as your email address or password. Any legitimate message from us will show in your "From Etsy" folder.

If you receive a suspicious message, here’s how to report it:

  1. Sign in to Etsy.com and go to Your Account.
  2. Go to Messages
  3. Select the suspicious message from your inbox.
  4. Choose Mark as Spam.

You’ll find examples of common scammer techniques and phishing messages here in our Help Center. Read our Account Security Checklist in the Seller Handbook for more steps you can take to protect your account.
