Hello, welcome to Etsy customer service,
A customer named CrystalCastle has just paid for his order. However, we are not able to confirm the order yet.
This is because we have doubts whether you are the real seller.
As you know, online scams have become commonplace. Therefore, we ask you to confirm your identity by providing us with your ЕMAIL and name.
PLEASE SEND ONLY YOUR E-MAIL AND NAME IN RESPONSE TO THIS MESSAGE.
After sending, we will verify all the information and you will receive an Еmail confirming your order.
You are being scammed, do not provide them with any information. Put the message in Spam.
Etsy already has your information, they will never ask you for sensitive / private information via chat, they will also never ask you to click on a link or scan a QR code via chat.
In addition you have no sales showing in your shop, all sales will appear in your dashboard under "orders" if there is nothing there, then you do not have a sale
thank you so much
Real messages from etsy will be in the "from etsy" section of your inbox. Always check on a computer or through a browser, as the app doesn't have that feature.
This is a scam. Send the message to spam. Thieves are pretending to be Etsy staff. This scam has been ongoing since at least July 2023. Messages from Etsy will show up in your mailbox titled "From Etsy".
Real Etsy staff will never ask for your email address because they already have it. Also, any actual orders will show up on your dashboard. If the sale is not displayed on your dashboard, you don't have a sale.
Don’t respond or provide any personal or financial information. Don't click any links that take you off the Etsy site.
If you have provided any financial information, immediately contact your bank to report fraud on your account!
Make it part of your daily routine to visit the forums. You can learn about ongoing concerns, problems, glitches, and scams. Stay informed!

Only real legitimate messages from Etsy will appear in the "From Etsy" section of your Etsy messages - not on the blue Seller app, for now.
ETSY already has your email! The scammers are trying to take you OFF of Etsy, because they will then send you emails that mimic Etsy pages, even to the point of a live chat - all just to get your banking details. Some Sellers have lost thousands.
This Etsy forum thread includes valuable information that all shop owners should read and be aware of to protect themselves from scammers.

If you receive an actual order, you will see it in your "Orders and Shipping" section and you will receive an email from Etsy notifying you that you have a sale, and there will be a notification in your dashboard as well.
So many scams at the moment. The latest I had today was someone offering a ridiculous amount to buy my shop.
@Thebeadyjboutique: I find that one really interesting as a scam. Doesn't every shop owner know that they can not even transfer, much less sell, their shop and / or account to someone else per Etsy's Terms of Use?
