Is anyone else having trouble publishing new listings?

Before I solved the problem by changing to the old listing, but you can't do that anymore. I contact Etsy's technical support, but as always they never solve anything to sellers. They give you a list of possible problems: cookies, browser., etc etc. I don't have anything written in ALT text. They tell me to contact me by email and they never do it. Aren't the new versions supposed to be better? 🤷‍

Yeh the new one is supposed to be better. Nothing but a glitch fest IMHO.

Yes, some sellers are still having problems with it.  But it is getting better so there is hope.  Chat folks won't be able to assist with these types of programming errors.  But they can open a ticket.  First, it may help to explain the issue here so sellers can help?  It's possible that someone is dealing with the same issue and has found a resolve.  If not, it may be beneficial to have the chat customer service agent open a ticket and forward it to the technical team working on programming the new listing form.  Etsy can't help fix what they are not aware of.

I think it would be beneficial if Etsy actually looked at what had been reported in the surveys and took care of those issues. It would also be useful for these larger projects for Etsy to compile a list of the issues and current statues (fixed, working on it, not an issue, etc.) Etsy should also have looked at how many sellers reverted back to the old version after trying the new version. That would tell them that this new version was not ready for prime time.

Finally, I am sorry to report that Etsy communications have not been up to par. Even when I have gone through the trouble of reporting an issue (with Pattern, for example) and was told that it was forwarded to the technical team, I never received any further communications. I followed up through the chat system because as a seller I do not have access to the ticket system (wasting more of my time) and it still wasn't addressed (chat person was nice though). Finally the most urgent item was 'magically' fixed and I gave up trying to get the other addressed (which is that on the Pattern Dashboard, the URL to 'Pattern Help' is invalid.

We can only speculate that this version is somehow better for Etsy.

Since there is no more transparency, we don't really know why they have replaced something that worked fine for us with something that DOES NOT work fine for us, do we?

@OneEyeCatStudio Maybe it contains secret fairy dust and will make packages magically appear on a doorstep within a day?  Just playing!  Who knows the answer to this one?  I image the form is beneficial for Etsy.

This has been on my mind from the start.  WHY?  What's the gain?  Who is this helping?  Not sellers.  We're all either surviving it or trying to.  So what gives?

I agree, the new one is 'better' in their eyes. I  upload pictures and then finish filling out the other sections. I come back and sometimes it gets hung up (the old version never did) and won't finish uploading the last picture. There is nothing I can do except refresh the page and start all over again....very frustrating.

There are also so many extra clicks to open the pop ups, add information, and save....what used to be available in just a dropdown.

I don't have high hopes for these issues being fixed as I tried the new version months ago and reported the issues in their surveys and the issues are still there.

Yes, I'm having problems again.  I just created a listing and got an error message "we're having trouble saving your changes."  I copied an old listing and made some changes to it to save time (that's a laugh).  So annoying as I have a window of time right now where I can work on listings but can't move forward because of this problem.  I can't save it and I don't want to publish it (not sure that would work either).  I thought this new form was supposed to be better than the old one.  Why does this keep happening?

Coming back to say that I tried again after about five minutes and I was able to save the listing.

I started a new listing rather than editing an old one, because this item is not substantially like anything else I have.  I am not able to save it as a draft.  It tells me to contact Etsy support.  Hah, as if I could actually do that and get a result.   I don't know whether it was because I changed the price after I initially gave it one, but they said the changing the price issue was fixed yesterday.

I'm getting the same error as LookBackVintage, when creating a new listing. It won't save or save as a draft, let alone publish.  Off to open a chat and get a ticket going . . . .

tHERE ARE ISSUES IF YOU TRY TO COPY AND OLD LISTING (dammit..caps lock) and edit and also if you try to edit and renew a sold listing. Some people's work around is to publish it then edit it.

yes, the Renew option is not working at all, at least as of yesterday....and now no option to go back to the old listing form!

So what I am reading in this thread is that there are issues if you try to copy and renew listings, and issues if you try to post a new listing?

I am hoping that Etsy takes this seriously because if sellers can't list items, they can't sell items. If they aren't selling items both the sellers and Etsy are loosing out on money.

They broke the site.  I mean, if you can't list or renew without some kind of may/may not work-around, you may as well say they broke the freaking site.  I knew there would be issues this week, but good God.  I feel like a heel for saying this, but I hope it crashes & burns, and they go (limp) back to the old one, tails between their legs.

I haven't been able to publish a final version of a listing or even save a draft for days now. That means no business which leads to lower rankings and no income! I am so fed up. Contacted Etsy support twice and as you say all you get is the same stuff about browsers and cookies. The worst part is that there was nothing wrong with the old format. So frustrated...

i cant seem to list anything,,i get to the same spot (weight and sz of item) and suddenly it pops up with fix issues but there is no way to do so,,tried four times same thing each time,,so aggravating,,

I have been a vintage seller for 13 years and keep finding that they really don't need to keep fixing things that are not broken.
