You have to acknowledge every new message, either answering it, or moving it into the Spam folder. It doesn't matter if you feel it doesn't need and answer such as another seller thanking you for your purchase. Or a friend saying hello. Or someone who messages you doing a new post each time instead of staying on the same message stream. You cannot ignore SpamScam either it needs to be sent to spam. The only messages you can ignore are the ones from Etsy that say Do Not reply. It takes about 19 new messages to get you up to speed again when you ignore one message.
