I am in Australia and use etsy shipping labels. However when filling the custom form out and putting in the correct price for each item in AUD as requested, when the shipping label has been printed it shows a much higher item price than was paid for by my customer. As VAT is paid on the dollar amount of goods bought, customs charged one of my customers extra on delivery, can someone please look into this to ensure the actual cost of a item is printed correctly on the custom shipping form, many thanks
what about using a 3rd party shipping company?
Something I will consider if etsy cant fix the glitch
The customs form should have the total
In addition, you should have an invoice, on the outside, in a see through document wallet
That invoice should have
the amount in the currency they purchased in,
separated out into amount and VAT, as it is on the packing slip
and etsy VAT number, or IOSS number, depending on the country you sent to.
The sender is responsible for all the paperwork
without the invoice, they often have to pay again,
it is not an etsy glitch.
Customs forms are in the senders currency and have the total, the invoice is in the importing countries currency, and has to be itemised.
