Hello everyone,
I'm posting this on behalf of a dear friend who's going through a really tough time right now. A few weeks ago, he was locked out of his Etsy account for "suspicious activity," and despite his best efforts, he hasn't been able to get back in. To make matters worse, he no longer has access to the email he used to create the account, which has made the situation even more challenging.
The only thing he can think of that may have caused the problem was that the week before, he permitted Etsy to allow an external website (etsyhunt) to scan his listings. He's been reaching out to Etsy support for help, but unfortunately after answering the ID questions, his ticket was closed without any response, leaving him feeling discouraged and helpless. On top of that, he's also been locked out of the forums, so he can't even turn to the community for support and advice.
He's poured his heart and soul into his shop over the past year, and it's been incredibly fulfilling for him to finally see some success and make some sales doing something he truly loves, even becoming a star seller. Now, it feels like everything he's worked so hard for has been taken away from him.
If any of you can offer any support, even just by sharing some advice or pointing him in the right direction, it would mean the world to him. The support tickets are #[removed] and #[removed] and the shop is [removed].
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for considering how you might be able to help.
Kat
No one here can help your friend - we are only other sellers. He will have to keep trying to contact Etsy for help. It sounds like he was hacked and has an infected computer.
Hi, I'm so sorry your friend is experiencing this. I hope this can turn the situation around. I had a friend who had the same situation before. And etsy finally proved that he did not violate any rules. The only place he could reach was etsy support e-mail addresses. His store, which had more than 6000 sales, suddenly closed. I can imagine the process was very difficult. but if the seller can prove that he has not violated the rules through handbook, podcast, videos, etc., he can solve his problem. otherwise he may have to start a store from zero.
