IP infringement notification

I opened my etsy shop and there was a large banner that said there was an IP infringement on 2 of my listings and that I would receive an email and the 2 products would be deactivated. I did not receive an email and I can't figure out what has been removed.  Any help would be great. Thanks!

Re: IP infringement notification

You have SMILEY in your shop, which is copyrighted / trademarked.

Take that down QUICKLY before you are sued.

Also problematic:

- Klondike Bar

- Disney Villians tumbler

Have you ever sold "Grinch" items?

Whoops--I didn't catch the smiley! And yes, they are relentless in pursuit!

Re: IP infringement notification

IF Etsy eactivated they should be in that section of your shop along with a notice that Etsy deactivated. Also, most people never receive that "promised" email. IF nothing has been deactivated it may just be an Etsy glitch.  I did not see anything suspicious looking IP wise on your first page but then I don't know the ins and outs of the POD designs and what is possibly trademarked. Some of the most unusual things ARE trademarked--one guy claims ALL fish jumping out the water is his design and reports all of these as infringing.

I had this too. Same message. Appeared twice a week for 3 weeks running. No email, nothing deactivated.

Etsy support explained it as some sort of technical problem and said to ignore it.

Re: IP infringement notification

They may be "historical" strikes.  If a TM owner wants their brand removed from your reviews and/or "sold" record (if public), they still have to lodge the official complaint to Etsy.  There is nothing for the seller to do in these cases.

If this is the case, you'll see the title and thumbnail of the infringing product removed in your reviews with "This listing is no longer available".  The buyer review will remain.  In your "sold" pages they won't show all 24 placeholders (excluding the first and last page).  Many sellers assume this is due to a listing out of production but if that was the case OOAK sellers, like myself, wouldn't have any sold/review history.

I don't have confirmation but it seems like these strikes are without ramifications for the seller but they would be wise to remove any IP they are currently selling without a license or permission.

Edit: just checked your shop OP and I'm wrong - your sold adds up to the same number you've sold.  I'll leave this post though.

Re: IP infringement notification

Thank you all. There were no new deactivated products, so I'm guessing it was a glitch. I will get rid of a couple of my products though. thanks again!
