I met all the criteria, but didn't get the Star Seller badge.

Jump to solution

Hello,

Etsy is telling me that I met all the criteria for a Star Seller (according to all the green check marks). However, somehow I didn't get the Star Seller badge. I don't know why. I read that it takes 24 to 48 hours, but it's been 48 hours already. Please advise. Thank you for your consideration.

The next time you can get star seller is Oct 1st. They don't put it up in the middle of the month.

Here's some info: "

Starting in July, shops will need to have at least 5 orders (down from 10) within the three month review period to qualify for Star Seller. Those orders will still need to total $300 before shipping and taxes. You still need to have been on Etsy’s platform for 90 days since your first sale (that criteria hasn’t changed). You’ll start to see this new criteria reflected on your Star Seller dashboard in July and badges will be awarded using these new minimums on August 1."

@NitiArtsKetubah: The stats you see on the Star Seller page are for the October star (for July, August and September). Badges are awarded one a month on or about the first.

If you have not yet done so, you might want to read https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403058372503-How-to-Become-a-Star-Seller?segment=selling

You don't show any badges on your shop, do you know if you've met the sales criteria?

Also, what Nana said - at this point the soonest you could get the star is October 1st.

@NitiArts

If you are looking at your dash and see the 3 green checks, you should see just above that section (on a computer, no idea about app):

Your October progress: On track
Next chance to qualify: October 1, 2022

Data based on current review period: July 1–September 30, 2022

Those green checks let you know you are "on track" to get your badges in October. I will say that I don't think it helps sales or deters them. It's just there. I've had it since inception I think and my sales are about normal. My primary market has nothing to do with the economy but I have noticed this year, my non-personalized items are selling far less what they have in the past so I deactivated some of them until the economy stabilizes.

My point is, don't change your business model just to get that badge. If you chase the numbers all you will end up with is more stress. If ya get it, cool. If not, also cool. Maybe in the future having it will mean something but this feels like the Etsy+. Great concept to generate more revenue for Etsy but nothing ever came of it. No bonus placement and the 5 free listings a month? Whoopie. 0.20 x 5 = 1.00 I find more than that laying on the floor of my car each month. The only cool thing is the ability to choose featured items/layout.
