I haven't received any notifications for a while (well over a week I'd say), no favourites, messages or kerrrchings and thought it was just another quiet time during the lovely weather here in the UK. Last night I got an email regarding a sale but no kerrrching, I went on Etsy on my laptop to see another order waiting from Friday and two messages that I hadn't answered as I hadn't been notified of them (not by email and not by app notifications).
I have double checked my emails, looked into my junk folder too and there has been no emails regarding the sale or the messages and there are no notifications on my app. Consequently I will lose my star seller status as the order will now arrive too late (it has to be posted by tomorrow and its a personalised item I need to hand paint) and also the messages were not answered in time.
Is there anything I can do? Obviously I have reached out to the buyer to apologise.
Thank you.
@ArtFixCreations You can move the shipping date out, as long as you do it before the original shipping date arrives. Click the three dots on the order page. Nothing you can do about the messages unless you are willing to mark them as spam.
You can only move the shipping date out, with agreement from the customer,
and as it's holiday time in the UK, (bank holiday and half term, and unusually lovely weather)
people will be slow to pick up their messages
Let this be the last time it happens. Check your actual shop at least once a day. The apps can have glitches and need updates, and I can personally tell you that the emails cannot be relied on - I only get a fraction of the emails from Etsy that I am supposed to be getting, and it's been going on for years.
There's a disconnect between our shops and the apps, for sure.
Also, for months now, I've had issues with receiving the emails.
They had been accurate. So, something behind the scenes changed.
I never missed an email - that I know of, until one day - suddenly, they stopped - sometime in 2018. Went through all the fixes suggested by Support. Nothing changed on my end, nothing ends up in my spam folder. If I get some of the emails from Etsy, but not all, how can that be an issue on my side?
I rarely even think about it - just check my shop all the time.
Have you updated to use the new etsy app? I know sometimes I have a delay of a couple of days with emails when etsy randomly glitches, it's why I check my account daily from my laptop.
Thanks everyone
I think of the seller app and emails as backups when I'm away from "the office." As @PillowDetails suggests, working on a laptop and checking things at least once a day via the browser is an absolute must in order to keep my business thriving.
I check my Etsy 3-4 times a day and still the order did not show up in my sold for 6 days! Etsy says as soon as it is sold it showed up. I told the girl (and screen shotted everything she told me) No it did not and please send this to whoever can make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Are you using a browser and logging in?
e-mails sometimes don't work, and the app is flaky.
it should be in - orders and shipping - new
The app has been rolled out without strict testing so should not be relied upon. I would use feedback on the app to complain and also contact Etsy support.
