I'm having a really frustrating time searching for anything. I seem to be in a test where your search term brings up 'best sellers' 'highly rated' and between '$25 and $100. You see these before you see the side button where you can use the filter. It's annoying.
I was looking for a beaded earrings kit. I'm in the US so I want to filter for shops in the United States. The results keep showing me non-US sellers. Not to mention the fact that I'm getting loads of .pdf listings but hardly any that include the beads.
Given the fact that there may not be shops offering kits with beads, but there should be some. It's become so hard to find anything, especially with this added difficulty with the country filter.
Is it just me?
It's just a test, so you can use a different browser or device if it is impairing you that much.
I have the test in this account, and was able to filter by country and by sub-category, so everything I click on is in the US and is not a pdf, but you may have a different version of the test https://www.etsy.com/search/craft-supplies-and-tools/jewelry-and-beauty/jewelry-making-and-beading?q...
Use Google. Etsy search isn't worth the effort.
That is true.
I always use Google to search Etsy...not perfect but Etsy's search is useless. Even to look for Etsy rules and terms of use I go to Google. I've been on Etsy for 15 years and can no longer find anything here.
Does a purchase resulting from a google search cause a fee from offsite ads? Could that be why etsy search sucks?
Etsy search has been bad since long before offsite ads,
when you google, it does tell you if it's an ad or not
@Hertfordweaver I wondered The same thing. As off site ad fees are cruel to a seller’s bottom line and I don’t want to impose them on anyone.
Keep in mind that if everyone on this forum searched for the exact same phrase they would all get different results. Because of personalized searches you are at the mercy of the algorithm deciding what you really want to buy. Pre personalized search results would show us what we were looking for but that is no longer true.
@Hertfordweaver The offsite ad fee only applies if they click on an ad.
Me too! It's horrible.

@cindylouwho2 Thank you. That's the answer I was looking for. I didn't know that I might see things differently with a different browser. Also thanks for checking the search - I found what I was looking for from your link LOL!
Much appreciated!
@chocolaterabbit I am glad you found what you wanted!
Sounds like a typical Etsy search to me!
