Please fix this yesterday. I needed to go back to the old listing form and its only a few days until that no longer works. What then?
Well, that usually means the page is missing something. Any warnings or pop-ups? Anything in red? Can you save as draft?
I really don't think Etsy is going to give us back the old form - I don't like the new one either. Here's a thread with hints on the new format - maybe it will give you a clue -
@PillowDetails This is actually a wide spread problem with the program which is on Etsy's side. I was just told by Etsy chat that Etsy engineers have become aware of this technical issue and working on it now which is wonderful! The odd thing is the new listing form works fine for some and not for others. Hopefully it's running as it should when the old listing form is retired.
Hopefully they fix the bug today as I have a shipment arriving. What I noticed is happening is when you hit edit on a sold out item, the quantity field is blank (it is normally is automatically set to 1) when you add your new quantity and hit publish, there is a big red pop banner that says "Hm, we’re having trouble saving your changes. Try again, and if this keeps happening contact Etsy Support." It is only on items that have sold out, not deactivated items and I'm convinced the issue is the blank quantity fields.
I didn't try to toggle back to the old listing, I assumed it would be the same issue. I went to my order page and found an order where it showed the item as sold out and I clicked the relist button from there and it worked.
@SmallDevotionsSupply "...clicked the relist button from there and it worked."
Yes, I found this is only way to renew sold out listing.
If you go into the listing, you get error "Hm, we’re having trouble saving your changes. Try again, and if this keeps happening contact Etsy Support."
After renewing from sold out list, I go into the listing to edit and able to publish changes.
The new form is unable to save changes, and since the quantity field is blank, you're making changes there, so it's a no go.
Make sure your operating system is up to date. Clear history to ensure this isn't a factor. Make sure all fields in the form are filled out properly. If needed, attempt to access it using another device and/or browser. If none of this works it is a problem on Etsy's side. The form works intermittently for some sellers. I've had this problem myself and it is worrisome. Report the problem to Etsy and fill out the survey form while they are still looking at it: https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/7833899/Etsy-Feedback-zez9i9l4zk
The New Listing Form gives me a message that there is a Bug and contact Etsy!! The new form will not allow me to relist or add a new item to my store. Hope Etsy will fix soon since the old form will be gone on June 25th.
I am having the same problem. Also, it says that the date the new listing would expire is next month (even though I was trying to list it today)
The New Listing Form still doesn't work. Continue to get an error message. Another example of Etsy introducing something without working out the technical bugs. June 25th is right around the corner. I have written several times regarding this problem. When will Etsy fix it
@priceapparel You're not alone. It doesn't work for me either. But I did just chat with Etsy and they informed me their engineers are aware of this problem and working on it.
I've had the same problem today and I don't even know how I eventually got it to work!! It also came up with a renewal date in 2.5 months instead of 4, but I had a customer waiting for the listing so I just had to go ahead and publish it with the shorter expiry date.
@GlitteramaCrafts I just got off of Etsy chat about this issue. They informed me their engineers are working on this problem right now. Hopefully it starts working for all of us soon. It seems to be functioning fine for some and not for others. Letting Etsy know about the problem has helped. I'd encourage anyone having technical difficulties with the new listing tool to contact Etsy to let them know exactly what's happening. We are almost out of time with this.
Thanks for the info @NancyQstudio
I was sorry that I had to start learning the new format, too. But I now have the hang of it.
Yes, something is not filled out. Check the bottom of the page and maybe there is an error notice there. They are not always at the top. Give it time, you’ll get use to it.
I think it also has to do with the shipping option. In the new form many of us have the shipping options preset and we just choose from what we have already set up. Just as in the 'old form' it does not accept a preset shipping selection it indicates that something is wrong in that section. So you have to do it again manually, create a new shipping option (unsaved). This should allow you to post. Previously I have also used the old form method but with it expiring soon. Had to investigate further. Worked for me.
Two months later - just how long does it take Etsy to figure out what they’ve missed with this new listing form?
