Etsy is preventing me from replying to spam messages, but I still can't become a star seller because it decreases my response rate, how do I fix it?
If you open a message that turns out to be spam, and see the Etsy message "you can't respond because this is no longer a valid user" (or wording to that effect, you should still be able to mark as spam from the message list, by checking off the little box, and marking as spam.
you have to reply, or mark them as spam.
You can mark them as spam if you access etsy through a browser, or the buyer app (not the seller app)
You don't want to reply to spam messages - you want to SPAM them for what they are - SPAM!
The "mark as spam" function isn't available in the blue seller app... if you are using that, log in to Etsy via a web browser to mark spam messages as spam so not responding won't hurt your star seller metrics for message response.
You never want to respond to the spammers.
This ^^^
Why is the ability to mark as spam NOT available in the app?
Why is the FROM ETSY folder not in the app either?
SIgh... I use both the app & desktop to run my shop but Etsy pushes the app and it isn't fully functional.
Sorry for the rant...
@SpellbinderieExactly!
There seems to be a bit of a push from Etsy for people to use the new app but it's awful.
Not being able to mark messages as spam.
No having your saved convo snippets available to select
Maybe if they actually fixed the App issues more people would use it.
@Spellbinderie I know, it makes no sense whatsoever not to have those features in the seller app! smh
