How can I unlink my old payonner with Etsy payment?

Hello everyone,

I'm having trouble with my payment account on Etsy and could really use some advice. Here's my situation:

I had a Payoneer account linked to my Etsy shop with an incorrect address. Payoneer advised me to close this account and open a new one with my correct Japan address (which matches my Etsy shop address), which I've done.

I contacted Payoneer support about this issue, and they told me that Etsy can unlink my old Payoneer account. Following their advice, I reached out to Etsy Support, but I haven't received any reply at all.

Now I need to unlink the old, closed Payoneer account from my Etsy shop so I can connect the new one.

Has anyone dealt with unlinking an old payment account from Etsy before? Any tips on how to get this resolved faster?

There have been other sellers who have had issues with Payoneer and trying to change it. Nothing seems to be a quick and easy fix when it comes to payment systems or verification when it has to be completed manually by a real human.

I do not know how long you have been waiting for a reply regarding this, but if it was me (very little patience for not receiving replies), I would restart and open a new shop with the correct details.

@KanshaBox  since you have no sales, I think you should open a new shop with the correct address. It would be so much easier than getting Etsy Support to help.

There is an issue if you unlink and then try to relink with another Payoneer account.  From what I understand from others Payoneer allows only one account for the shop and won't allow linking of another.  I'm not sure how accurate that is.

Thanks for the heads-up. Just to clarify, my old Payoneer account is closed. I only have one Payoneer account now, with the correct info. Etsy still has the closed one linked, and I need them to unlink it so I can connect my current (and only) Payoneer. It's not about linking a different active account.

payoneer only allows one account per person/id

so you can't link a different payoneer account, as etsy doesn't allow accounts to be transferred

so, you need to fix the problem with the payoneer account - or you won't be able to sell from this etsy account

Thanks for the heads-up, but I think there might be a slight misunderstanding about my situation.

You're totally right that Payoneer only allows one account per person, and I know Etsy doesn't do account transfers. That's why I went through the process of closing my old Payoneer account entirely.

I don't have two Payoneer accounts. The old one is gone, closed down.

The new Payoneer account I have now is the only one associated with my ID, and it has all the correct information (my current address, matching my Etsy shop).

The problem is that Etsy's system still seems to have that closed Payoneer account linked to my shop. I'm not trying to link a different Payoneer account while the old one is still active. I need Etsy to essentially "forget" the old, closed account so I can link the one and only (and correct) Payoneer account I currently have.

Hopefully, that makes things a bit clearer! It's frustrating because Payoneer says Etsy needs to do the unlinking on their end.

I do not believe it matters that the old one is gone. I could be wrong, but once a payoneer account has been linked, that is it for that account. If mistakes were made during the first account, then it would be quicker to start a new Etsy shop and add the corrected details this time.

Thanks for the reply. I actually checked with Payoneer about this, and they specifically told me that Etsy can unlink the old account on their end. That's why I reached out to Etsy support and am currently waiting for their response.

For now, I'll give it some time and see what happens with Etsy. If things don't work out, starting a new shop might be my next option.
