Etsy placed my shop into holiday mode when I got my first order and I’m not really sure why it is, I don’t believe I’ve breached any policies or anything like that.
getting hold of Etsy has proven to be quite the pain. Please help!
This is a sellers forum so can't offer much help on this one, only Etsy can. Are you selling something not allowed here? I know 100000s of items are being sold which aren't technically allowed.
Her sold listing was some plant cuttings.
Since there isn’t any infringement my guess would be Etsy needs information check.
@OmasFabricStash There's a whole list of plants which can't be sold here. That's why I asked if they were selling something prohibited.
I'm also guessing Etsy needs to check your info, ID and bank verification.
Check your emails for a request from them.
While you're waiting, finish setting up your shop - policies are a big thing so get them up asap. I'm assuming from the AUS in your shopname that you are in Australia. I'd make sure that you are following policy for shipping plant materials between states. Actually, that's important no matter where you are.
It could be a lot of things, making sure your payment setting are filled out, someone else having an Etsy shop with your IP address or possibly you might need to check US requirements to sell plants. My best advise is check your spam folder and contact Etsy.
As you have just had your first sale, etsy has probably asked you to verify your account and details,
check your spam folder in case the e-mail went there,
and, in a browser, not the app, check the finances section of your account
......
.....I don't know the laws about shipping plants within Australia - there are many restrictions in a lot of places, or licences required, I'd double check them to be on the safe side
This is the australian interstate quarantine and certification website

extract
All of Australia’s states and territories apply quarantine conditions on the entry of plant goods. Conditions for particular plant goods may differ between the states and territories.
