Our first sale was on Dec 27, 2024. We have since had an additional 29 sales, together generating over $1500, minus applicable costs/fees leaves us at about $900 net profit. But we have only received 2 deposits totalling around $50 as of today, January 21, 2025. The math does not add up.
I’ve spoken with 3 different CSR’s and have gotten 3 different answers from each, including info about a payment delay, which I really don’t understand still but again, it doesn’t make sense even if that was the case. Honestly, it feels like a scam. I keep telling myself Etsy is well-known across the globe, how could they possible be scamming us? More people would be complaining about this. So what am I missing?? We haven’t received what we should have received and customer service basically told me “tough sh*t”. I am freaking out. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
See if anything in these links applies, particularly the deposit schedule and account reserve info:

How to Calculate Your Etsy Payments Deposit Amount – Etsy Help
Newly opened Shops have a "hold" on Deposits for 14 - 20 Days. Additionally, you may have a Payment Account Reserve with a Minimum Reserve amount. That you have received 2 $ 50.00 deposits suggests that there is a "Reserve" on funds as well as the 14 - 20 day delay.
I agree it is confusing and hard to understand what is going on when you are new and have made sales and not getting the funds yet that you are due. A few years ago Etsy had an influx of new sellers that came in and all of a sudden made more sales than they could fill and then vanished leaving Etsy to cover the cost of refunding those unfulfilled orders. It cost Etsy a lot of money and also left many buyers upset. Etsy later instigated new policies to prevent this and started holding funds up to 20 days after the sale. Any fees from future sales are deducted from those first sales. Then a shop can have funds put into reserve after that for various reasons. It may take a while for your funds to be released, however I have been here way over 10 years and have always gotten all my funds. I didn't look to see what you are selling and that can also affect how long funds are held.
Evidently there’s a class action lawsuit on Etsy for withholding funds. Regardless of what happened in the past is not appropriate to punish future sellers. The process is insulting and says we want sellers to not expect payment. Etsy will not respond to emails appropriately. Just cut and paste. I’m fed up with this nonsense. I don’t work for free and this is what I have been doing. This will eventually catch up with them. I’m hearing Amazon might be a good option. I’m not closing my shop until I get paid. But I’m not listing any more items.
