I just noticed that all of my prices are wrong. Everything with price different for variation defaulted to the lowest price. I’ve lost a bunch of revenue with this and no way to contact support. Hate to deactivate my shop. It will take forever to figure out what is happening. It’s different pricing on everything! Anyone else have this and is Etsy even aware of it? Contact number?
I once had this happen to me, and it took awhile to figure out it was due to me bulk editing prices, which usually does not affect listings with variations, but for some reason it affected mine. Have you done any bulk editing or bulk repricing or even repricing via the $35 FSG ... or do you use a VELA or any inventory listing / editing website (Indiemade, Shopify, etc.)?
@TBQSC this is indeed a common reason for this problem, when it happens.
It appears this has been happening since the first of the week. It did not affect all of my listings. Of course just my best sellers. I have not done any bulk editing for at least six months.
I used the native Etsy bulk editor. I was using google Chrome, on a browser.
The funny thing is that not all my listings got corrupted, but about 1/2 did.
The listings that are still showing the pricing variations still have a bug though. When I go into manually edit the lisitng, and go to view the variations- the pricing is all one set price (the cheapest option).
But when I go look at these items on Etsy, you can go through the materials and see the prices are there. That is really all that matters I guess.
The other half of my items allow you to select the finest material, and pay for silver pricing.
We are having the same issue, has anyone heard back?
same problem here...
etsy still ignores me
did you find a solution?
Hi All,
I am a jewelry seller on Etsy, and as gold has fluctuated wildly since the election, I have to update prices accordingly. I tried updating prices with the native Etsy bulk editing tool. Unfortunately, every item with a variation (for me, materials vary such as silver, gold, etc), has now been conflated to silver pricing.
This looks like: Someone can choose a ring on my etsy page, choose 18k gold, and pay $190. WOW.
ALL MY ITEMS HAVE THIS. Just beware. FFFFFF. This is going to be a late night.
I don't think you can update prices on variations using the bulk editor. What I think you might have done is override any variation pricing with a flat rate (one price) for each listing. I'm sorrry, I think you will need to go into each listing and reset the prices for your variations manually.
@MetalWendler I just checked this and found that you can increase or decrease variation prices by a certain amount or percentage. However if you choose 'set new amount' then that function will override all the other prices. I can only guess that is what happened to your listings. Unless it's a bug. Did you use the app or a browser to make the price changes?
@Amaradorn- correct. I use the bulk editor all the time to increase by amount or percentage. This is needed when gold fluctuates so quickly. I did not "set new amount" to be perfectly clear.
I used my browser, which is Chrome. Fortunately not all of my items lost their details in variations pricing, but probably 1/2 did (out of about 500).
@MetalWendler Okay, I don't know then. Maybe it's a bug. I'm sorry that happened to you. I wondered if the app was buggy, but you are using a browser so maybe it's a bigger issue.
@amaradorn - yeah I hope it is just a bug. I am just trying to give a heads up, if you are doing editing and have variable pricing- do one section at a time and check them. I have at least another day's worth of work to reprice.
I believe that Etsy upgraded our listings so we can now have more variation choices. Before, we could have more than one variation, but only one of those could be a different price and quantity. Now more choices, but with the change came a glitch, and only the lowest price is showing.
@sweetstonesjewelry Good catch! I have that option now too.
Still can't figure out why only some people had their prices changed, though. I do have price variations on most listings, and none have changed.
okay, but is there any solution?
It happened to me as well. I first noticed it on March 28th, only because of a sale that charged the customer $19.95 for a 3 Piece Set, when it should have charged them $48.95. $19.95 was the lowest variation, for the bodysuit only. I put a request into chat, and they said they would submit it to support. Support emailed me like a week ago stating my listing appears to be working now. It is ONLY working because I had to go in to edit and re-add the price variations, which were totally gone. I have noticed 5 other listings do this since that initial sale. I emailed support back to let them know it is still happening and obviously a glitch. No response back yet. I do not bulk edit and always use Chrome on a desktop.
What I CANNOT figure out is what listings it will truly affect, because when I go it to check/edit listings to check pricing, some of them show the pricing variations are gone, yet when I look at that same listing from my shop page and check the drop downs it shows the pricing variations set up. I think I will re-add pricing anyway on those.
There have been so many glitches I've noticed over the past few months it wouldn't surprise if that's a little bit of why sales are down for some. Yes, I know economy, but glitches don't help if people can't check out for some reason. I went into a shop this week, and some listings I could add to cart, yet some said this item cannot ship to your region or not available in your region, something like that. I am in MO, the shop was in AR. So, it can't ship one state over??
was you able to solve it somehow?
I dont really want to change everything manually, because I have a lot of variations
and etsy support just ignores me now...
so, they just dont respond to any of my emails nor chat...
And my sales just disappeared... I guess because of that glitch...
Use GetVela app to update the prices. Etsy editor is useless
GetVela was what ruined my prices in the first place! I still use the website for other bulk editing functions, but not for pricing ... that is simple enough to do via Etsy bulk editor!
Well, I just sold a bunch from a listing that previously had different prices for each variation. Of course, they all chose the biggest and received the lowest price. I have no idea what listings have been impacted.
I messaged Etsy, at this point all I care about is how Etsy is going to reimburse me for the money lost.
did you receive any response?
its been almost a week since I noticed it and I guess its been like that for a while... because my sales just stopped... may be 2 weeks or so... I guess because of this glitch...
Was you able to resolve it?
