Help! Spammers killing my conversion rate

So I’m brand new to Etsy and just starting to see that my shop is finally getting and increase in traffic but almost no sales. I checked my stats today and saw that almost 50% of this traffic is coming from “direct traffic” from something called [Removed - Do not post potentially unsafe links]. I tried googling it but it’s in Vietnamese. Is there a way to block traffic from this site? I also get multiple scam messages a DAY and I’m assuming it’s from this. Please help!

Bot views are usually cleared out over time (probably by Etsy bots). Your stats should then be more reasonable. We can't block traffic. The scam messages might be connected or might be part of the ongoing and evolving scams that are happening to a lot of sellers everywhere these days. Just mark them spam and be done.

Might be worth flagging with Etsy support as they need to reduce traffic from spammers the more complaints the more likely it might be addressed, but sometimes the spike in traffic can be from Etsys when they carry out tests as well

I never look at that.

I look at orders.

I get serial 'hearters' too, who go through my shop and pretty much heart/favorite everything. Every time one posts in the forums a certain quantity of folks will go check out the shop.

as I've been known to say: 'words are easy, actions are hard'...and in this arena 'views are easy, orders are hard'...so pay attention to orders and ignore the views.

JMO.

Re: Help! Spammers killing my conversion rate

At one point I joined some of the teams that favorite items, favorite shops, and then I read it does not help you or anyone to favorite and not buy. I left the teams. The other reality is while they are busy clicking on stuff.. are they clicking on my ad items and I am being charged for that?  Lots of clicks on some of my items still without a purchase, like a perfume sample that does not cost much.  Are people also clicking on your stuff so you blow through a ton of money on ads and you drop out of the ads that show?  Is this a competition thing?  Only orders matter...
