So I moved an older item in my shop into a clearance section in my store and reduced the price accordingly. I did it in the "new" listing format this morning since it was a minimal change. Just went into my shop and when I viewed my shop, the listing was at the original price. When I went into my listings, it showed the clearance price. So I had to go into edit mode, go into the OLD VERSION of the listing, where the price was unchanged, and edit it there for the price change to take effect. Just a heads up
This has been going on since Friday and has gathered many threads about it, posted by frustrated sellers.
Etsy is allegedly investigating.
@SewInspiredByJapan I had to do that myself last night after waiting probably close to 30 hours for the price to update ... which it never did.
I just looked this morning and realized one other item I moved into clearance had not changed... Wonder if this glitch goes away when the old format does...
Been going on quite a bit longer than that, I started trying to use the new form, kept getting errors for posting renewals with new pis and price, kept happening, contacted support, their fix? Use the old listing! No kidding
I totally believe that! Instead of focusing on changing what works fine... when are they going to add the new USPS Ground Advantage... I'm guessing a lot of buyers would be totally happy with saving on shipping, especially for heavier items.
Why is it I can not longer post on the "tomorrow" thread? Etsy made it non postable. I just want to know when it is safe to list and edit things again and I won't be wasting my time. I have no doubt they will fix it, but why do they want what is going on to be a secret?
Etsy stops posting and often even removes threads that have many complaints.
Maybe it’s Etsy’s way of raising posting fees. We are having trouble editing stuff. Could it possibly be they no longer what us to have the ability to edit so they are thinking we have to make a whole new listing just to edit something. If we make a mistake on the listing it seems like they want another 20 cents to make a new one. Sounds far fetched, I know but I wouldn’t put anything past Etsy anymore. They seem to be working on stuff that works and not on things that don’t. Sorry to sound so negative!
Wonder if anyone has tried Quick Edit for prices, when they encounter this glitch?
Someone, sorry but I forgot their name, posted a workaround yesterday, which can be done from the listings page.
Click on the item(s) you want to edit, choose 'change price' from the editing options dropdown, edit, and it'll stick.
Am thinking I will be doing ALL my editing from the listings page as that seems to be the one that is working.
ETA, just saw in another thread a post by Murphy Gardens that this has been fixed, the price thing, that is.
ETA again, I tested it, and it appears to be true.
Do you think it will sort itself out eventually? I have a few like this, when listings expire I often reduce the price as I renew them. I can see my new reduced price if I go and edit the listing.
It seems to "take" if I then change the price again, but doing this one by one will be really annoying.
