Hey everyone,

I recently had one of my listings removed by Etsy, citing a violation of “Etsy’s Creativity Standards.” After looking into this, I discovered that other platforms like AliExpress, Temu, and Amazon have been stealing my product images for knockoff listings. This seems to be a widespread issue affecting a lot of Etsy sellers.

I’ve taken the necessary steps by investing in a DMCA service, which helps me track down and report fraudulent listings. I’ve submitted DMCA takedown requests to these websites. I believe the new AI/bot system might be incorrectly flagging our listings because it’s seeing our images on other platforms without realizing they were stolen from us.

I’ve reached out to Etsy support with my DMCA takedown proof and am now waiting for a response. Has anyone else gone through this process? If so, how long did it take for Etsy to resolve the issue and restore your listing? Any advice on getting a faster response would be appreciated.

It’s frustrating that our legitimate listings are being flagged while we’re the ones actively fighting the knockoff versions elsewhere. I hope Etsy can address this more efficiently, especially for sellers who are clearly taking steps to protect their work.

Unfortunately if there are other photos out there then the ones on Etsy gets taken down. If I see 5 different shops showing the same item how do I know which one is the original and which are the copies?

I have the original RAW photos that have the metadata to show when the picture was taken, as well as upload to DMCA.com account with verified domain if you have your own brand website. Also when you submit a DMCA takedown, you're legally bound by your good faith claim that the material infringes your copyright, and if it's false, you can face legal consequences like fines or lawsuits.

You've done exactly what sellers are supposed to do, so good for you! From what I've seen here in the forums, it could take some time for etsy to deal with all the sellers affected.

To add to what's said above. 

Your Astronaut listing has the NASA tag. Could be something else. Check your listings for copyright/trademarks and remove them if you don't have permissions.

Same here.  I reached out to Etsy Legal / Etsy Trust & Safety on September 3rd and have not heard back other than to get the email that they received my request.
