This problem started early this morning. I answered a new potential customer message within minutes. When I replied, I got the blue message that this was the first message from potential buyer. This happens every time I message her, not when she sends a message. And, I have sent a few messages, just trying to clear this off. But, it does not. I get the message Good Job on quick reply, and then the blue message pops back up that this is the first message.
I have sent messages to other buyers and this has not happened.
Is this happening to anyone else?
@MyVintageAlcove: Based on the many many recent threads about this (and some personal experience), the new message banner not going away appears to be only a user interface glitch is not affecting any stats such as Star Seller. There have, however, been reports about other Message issues that are impacting a shop negatively - particularly replies made via the app.
I had this happen in my shop just this past week. I had an exchange with the customer of about 7 messages and the annoying little blue New Message would not go away. It eventually did so I believe as @BagmakerSupply has indicated it is an internal user glitch. It eventually went away about 2 days later. My stats however remain intact 🤩 This seems to have been the case on the other threads I've seen on this topic of late.

Thank you both for the information & your personal experiences. I was concerned if it would affect SSS. I usually always answer convos using the app. Hopefully Etsy continues working to improve the usability of this app!
It has been happening with mine for over 4 weeks
It goes away after about 3 days,
I had one roll over on the last star seller, and it doe not affect it, so it is just a display error
