I got an order this weekend that indicates "gift message included" in the details. However, I've had "offer gift wrapping" and "offer a gift note" disabled in my Settings for ages, so I don't know how this got through. Any ideas for where I should look to see what happened?
FWIW, I have some simple gift tags and wrapping materials on hand that will fit this particular item so I'll go ahead with it -- I don't include packing slips to print the gift message on -- but I'd like to figure this out so I can control it going forward.
Thanks!
Is it possibly the gift teaser message vs an actual gift message since you have that disabled? The GiftMode thing has a gift teaser thing that the buyer can add to the order. You don't need to do anything with those if you have gift messages disabled. I don't know exactly how those show up on the seller end but hopefully someone else will chime in who does know. Perhaps check the actual order and see if it's showing the gift message.
Edit to add- here is a thread about this with a solution explaining how the gift teaser thing works when you have gift message disabled https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/quot-Offer-gift-message-quot-is-disabled-for-my-shop-...
If it's a teaser, it says that on the order. I checked past orders & these are the 3 different notes I see:
@dorabellasews You can print the gift message on a label to attach to the back of the gift tag if you want.
If it's a glitch, you go to the Help Center or in your dashboard and shoot them an email about it.
